Presbyterian Tops Radford

CLINTON, S.C. – Behind two doubles and three singles wins the Presbyterian Blue Hose (7-10, Big South: 2-1) defeated the Radford Highlanders (1-13, Big South: 0-4), 4-3, at the Templeton Tennis Courts on Tuesday afternoon.

With the victory, Presbyterian coach John Collins moved into a tie for 10th place on the Big South wins list with his 88th victory as a coach in the Big South.

"A conference win is always a huge accomplishment and I'm excited for our team to get the win today," Collins said. "The conditions were tough but we had some incredible finishes in the doubles and singles. Evgenios (Vasilakis) is so fun to watch, David (Mamalat) has learned to play at a higher level, and Denim (Yadav) is so consistent for us and he has the most clinches on the team. I'm excited to finish the year strong with this group of competitors."

DOUBLES
With wins at number three and one doubles, Presbyterian claimed the doubles point for the eighth time this season. On court three, Presbyterian Evgenios Vasilakis and Pedro Cardoso tallied PC's first win with a 6-3 victory. At number one doubles, Presbyterian's Javier Matos and Denim Yadav clinched the doubles point for the Blue Hose with a 6-3 win.

The two teams split their six singles matches. Vasilakis put the first singles point on the board for Presbyterian with a 6-2, 6-2 win on court five.
