Blue Hose Knock Off Georgia State

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College Blue Hose baseball team (20-21) took down the Georgia State Panthers (21-20) with a score of 8-3 behind a perfect day for Joel Dragoo.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jack Gorman set the tone in the top of the first inning by drawing a walk and quickly advancing to second on a passed ball. Brody Fahr's single propelled Gorman to third, and a steal by Dragoo placed runners on second and third. A few wild pitches led to Gorman crossing home plate for the team's first run, with Fahr following shortly after. The momentum continued as Noah Lebron's strategic play secured another run, showcasing Presbyterian's early dominance with a 2-0 lead.
- Georgia State took a two-run homer in the second inning to even the score at two runs apiece.
- Presbyterian rallied in the bottom of the third as Fahr courageously took first base after being hit by a pitch. Dragoo's precise double down the left field line set the stage for Lebron's RBI and a crucial passed ball that allowed Dragoo to extend the lead to 4-2.
- The game's intensity peaked in the bottom of the seventh when Dragoo rocked a home run, propelling the Blue Hose to a commanding three-run advantage.
- In the eighth inning, Jake Randolph capitalized on an error by the shortstop, securing first base and setting the stage for a game-changing sequence. Jay Wetherington's second impressive double of the day advanced Randolph to third base. Fahr then delivered a solid two-RBI triple to center field before he was able to score on a throwing error.
- Presbyterian's defense held strong in the top of the ninth, denying Georgia State any further opportunities and solidifying a resounding 8-2 victory.
