CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Blue Hose Cross Country/Track teams traveled to the Johnson C. Smith Invitational in Charlotte, North Carolina on Friday afternoon, where three runners set new personal records.
The women's team also set a new school standard in the Distance Medley Relay.
Savannah Watson broke her previous 1500 meter record, running a time of 5:58.95. Abigail Donaldson also ran in the 1500 meter event, with a final time of 5:46.78. Donaldson and
Caroline Rairigh competed in the 800 meter event as well, posting times of 2:45.56 and 2:47.66, respectively. In the 800 meter event,
Eliana Watson posted a time of 2:48.87, which is a personal collegiate record. She also ran in the 200 meter race for the first time, with a final time of 31.33.
Keyli Gomez ran in the 3000 meter event, running a final time of 11:44.66. This is the second fastest time for the event in PC's Division I era. She now holds the top three times for this event. In the 100 meter race, Habana Rubio posted a time of 14.30. She now holds the top three 100 meter times in PC's Division I history. The Women's Team finished out the meet with the school's first-ever Distance Medley Relay with a time of 14:28.96.

On the men's side, Jae Bartlett improved his previous 1500 meter personal best by twelve seconds, posting an official time of 4:40.38. Also in the 1500 meter race,
Noah Kaufman, Spencer Weiters, and
James Marler ran times of 4:33.69, 4:49.61, and 5:39.19, respectively. Kaufman also ran in the 5000 meter race with a time of 17:39.39. He now holds the third fastest time in PC's Division I era in the 5000 meters. In the 200 meter race, Nizeyimana "Shadow" Aristide improved his own personal record with a time of 24.34. This is the second fastest time in PC's Division I era. Also in the 200 meter event, Gabe Butler posted a time of 30.66.
William Johnson participated in the 800 meter race, posting a time of 1:59.44.
Samuel Wall also ran in the 800 meter race, with a final time of 2:20.91. To round out the men's competition, Aristide, Butler, Johnson, and Wall competed in the 400 meter race, posting official times of 55.82, 53.52, 51.99, and 57.23, respectively. Johnson now holds the top two school records in this event.
