CLINTON, S.C. -Â Â The Presbyterian College Blue Hose cross country program has announced the addition of six talented runners to the 2024 roster.
"What's interesting about this group is they're very meticulous," said head coach
GJ Hudgens, who is in his seventh season at Presbyterian. "They're eager to do well and do everything perfectly. It's an attitude designed for success, and they lean into this team's strength, knocking down individual times. I value their commitment."

SERENA BURCH
Cornelius, N.C./William A. Hough High School
Â
Was a long-distance runner and sprinter on her high school team. Was a part of Hough's swimming team. An accomplished member of Hough's orchestra. Her father Roy-Allen Burch swam for Bermuda in the 2008 and 2012 Olympics.

GAVIN GUYTON
Gilbert, S.C./Lexington High School
Â
Earned All-County honors. Received his team's Johnny Boozer Award. Earned seven varsity letters in high school. Personal best times: 800 at 2:01, 1600 at 4:33, Â and 5k at 16:44.

DAVID HARNER
Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Country Day School
Â
Earned his team's Coaches Award in 2024 and the team's Most Improved Runner award in 2022. Helped Charlotte Country Day capture a conference championship and finish runner-up in the state championships. His parents Rob and Stephanie Harner both played professional and college golf.

JACOB SMITH
Cope, S.C./Orangeburg Prep
Â
Named All-State in cross country three times and in track as a senior. Was a three-time All-Region selection in track and cross country.  As a senior, he played a major role in helping his team win the state championship. Set school records in the 1500, 3200, and 5k. Personal best times: 5k – 17:02, 3200 – 10:30, and 800 – 2:11. His uncle Rocky Reed played golf at Presbyterian from 2003-07.

ETHAN TROMBLY
Ellabell, Ga./Bryan County High School

Qualified for the state championships in track all four years of his high school career. Ranked as the number one miler in Region 3A. Named team MVP in track. Played an integral role in helping his high school team capture the region championships in track. Also played wide receiver on the football team for three years.

TAYLOR WOOTEN
Charlotte, N.C./Myers Park High School

As a senior, she was captain of the track team. Competed in the hurdles. Member of the Myers Park's cheerleading squad.
