CLINTON, S.C. – Senior
Pedro Cardoso posted a three sets win at number two singles but the Presbyterian Blue Hose (0-1) lost to the Kennesaw State Owls (1-0), 6-1, at the Templeton Tennis Courts on Friday afternoon. The loss ended Presbyterian's streak of winning their home opening match for eight consecutive seasons.
DOUBLES
Kennesaw State won at number two doubles. Presbyterian's doubles team of
David Mamalat and
Evgenios Vasilakis posted a 6-3 win at number one doubles evening the doubles matches at one apiece. Kennesaw State captured the doubles point with a win on court three.
SINGLES
Kennesaw State posted straight sets wins at number three, five, and six singles. Then, Presbyterian's
Daksh Prasad battled Kennesaw State's Eric Vladimirov before falling in three hard-fought sets at number four singles. Cardoso defeated Kennesaw State's Mikolai Liss in three sets, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4. Kennesaw State collected a straight sets win at number one singles to close out the match.
