Women’s Hoops Central: Presbyterian vs Charleston Southern

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's basketball team is set to take on the Charleston Southern Buccaneers in Templeton Center on Wednesday, January 22 at 5:00 p.m. The Blue Hose men's basketball team will follow, beginning around 7:30 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Blue Hose fell to High Point last Saturday despite Kishyah Anderson picking up her 11th double-figure scoring performance of the season. She posted 15 points and nine rebounds. Three PC players scored double-digit points with Anderson leading the charge, Aminata Tal recording 11 points, and Daniella Velez taking 10 points.

A LOOK AT THE BLUE HOSE
- Presbyterian has averaged 51.1 ppg while recording a 36.1 field goal percentage.
- Junior guard/forward Kishyah Anderson leads the team with 12.5 ppg while shooting at a 45.5 rate from the field.
- Senior guard Paige Kindseth is a not far behind with 10.4 ppg while leading the team with 8.5 rpg.
- Junior guard Shelby Fiddler leads the team from beyond the arc, with 21 made three-pointers while shooting at 24.4 percent.
- The Blue Hose are led by first year head coach Tiffany Sardin.
 
KINDSETH KILLIN' IT
Paige Kindseth earned the title of Big South Player of the Week on January 13 after delivering back-to-back standout performances against conference foes the week prior. Across the two games, Kindseth averaged 21 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2 assists while shooting 48.6 percent from the field (17-of-35) and an outstanding 87.5 percent from the free-throw line (7-of-8). She also contributed four steals and maintained a strong court presence, limiting her turnovers to just one per game.

SCOUTING THE BUCCANEERS
- Charleston Southern has taken a 6-12 record with a 2-3 mark in conference play. They picked up their league wins over Gardner-Webb and Winthrop while falling to Longwood, High Point, and Radford.
- The team averages 56.7 ppg with a 35.7 field goal percentage.
- Junior guard Catherine Alben leads the Buccaneers with 15.6 ppg (second in the Big South) and a 41.6 field goal percentage (leads the Big South).
- Junior forward Saniya Jones leads the conference in blocks, averaging 1.0 blocks per game.
- The Buccaneers are led by fourth year head coach Clarisse White.
 
THE ALL-TIME SERIES
Wednesday's game will feature the 35th time that these two teams will have met since Presbyterian made the switch to Division I in 2007. Last season the Blue Hose fell to CSU twice during the regular season before defeating them in the first round of the Big South Conference Tournament.
