The Presbyterian Blue Hose (0-2) after an 11-day break are back on the courts with three matches this week. First, Presbyterian plays ETSU (0-2) at home at the Templeton Tennis Courts this Wednesday, January 29 at 1 p.m. Then, Presbyterian travels to Charlotte, North Carolina to play Queens (0-2) this Friday, January 31 at 11:30 a.m. The Blue Hose finish the week with a road match at Belmont Abbey on Saturday, February 1 at 11Â a.m.

Juan Pablo Boada is in his first season at the helm of the program. Presbyterian returned five letterwinners: senior
Pedro Cardoso, juniors
David Mamalat and Denim Yadvae, and sophomores
Marco Foglieni and
Evgenios Vasilakis. Joining those five returners are freshman
Daksh Prasad and
Eduardo Valentin. Cardoso, Mamalat, Yadav, Foglieni, Vasilakis, and Prasad all recorded singles and doubles wins this past fall during the team's fall tournament season. Valentin is new to the roster this spring. All five returning players earned All-Big South accolades last season.Â

This spring, Cardoso recorded a singles win in Presbyterian's season-opening match against Kennesaw State. The Blue Hose doubles team of Mamalat and Vasilakis tallied a win on court one in the Kennesaw State match.

BIG SOUTH PRESEASON POLL
Presbyterian was picked to finish second in the preseason Big South coaches poll. Gardner-Webb, who won the Big South regular-season title last season, was picked first. After the Blue Hose in the poll was UNC Asheville, the defending Big South tournament champions, who were picked third. Longwood and Radford round out the poll in fourth and fifth place respectively.

In Presbyterian's men's tennis program's history, the Blue Hose have captured three Big South regular-season titles (2014, 2017, and 2023) and three Big South Tournament titles (2017, 2021, and 2023).

ETSU BUCCANEERS
Wednesday's match will be the second meeting between PC and ETSU. The Buccaneers defeated PC, 6-1, at home in their previous matchup on February 6, 2022. Former PC standout Max Benson tallied a three-set win at number one singles.
This season, ETSU enters Wednesday's match after road losses at Clemson and Wake Forest. Francisco Lamas recorded a straight sets win at number four singles at Clemson.

QUEENS ROYALS
Presbyterian has won the last two matches against Queens including a 5-2 home win last season on February 4, 2024. In that win, Presbyterian won the doubles point. Former PC standout
Javier Matos, Yadav, Cardoso, and Mamalat also posted singles wins in that match.
This season, Queens has road losses at Charlotte and Wofford. Queens plays South Carolina on the road on Wednesday before the PC match. Laurenz Blackwede and Win Steveker have singles wins this season.

BELMONT ABBEY CRUSADERS
Presbyterian has won the last six matches against Belmont Abbey. In their last matchup, Presbyterian posted a 7-0 road win on February 19, 2022. Presbyterian won at number one and three doubles to claim the doubles point. Cardoso tallied a win at number five singles and was part of PC's number three doubles team which clinched the doubles point for the Blue Hose with their win.
The Crusaders were picked as the Conference Carolinas preseason favorite for the fourth straight season.
