LAST TIME OUT – Behind three double-figure scorers and a strong defensive performance, the Presbyterian Blue Hose defeated the Longwood Lancers in their Big South opener this past Thursday in the Templeton Center. The Blue Hose defense limited Longwood to 24 points, 30.8 percent shooting from the field, and zero three-point field goals in the second half.
Kaleb Scott scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
Kobe Stewart scored 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
Kory Mincy added 15 points to the Blue Hose's offensive attack.
BLUE HOSE BY THE NUMBERS – Presbyterian averages 77.4 points per game and 36.6 rebounds. The Blue Hose are shooting 47.7 percent from the field and 37.6 percent from beyond the three-point arc. Mincy leads the Blue Hose in scoring and assists at 15.6 points and a Big South leading 4.6 assists per game. Stewart is second on the team in scoring at 14.3 points per game.
Jaylen Peterson leads the team in rebounding averaging 7.2 boards per game. Scott is third on the team in rebounding grabbing 5.6 boards per game while scoring 8.3 points per game.

THREE-POINT FIELD GOAL PERCENTAGE - Presbyterian leads the Big South and ranks 43rd in the NCAA in three-point field goal percentage at 37.6 percent (124-330). Presbyterian has had nine games this season shooting over 40 percent from beyond the three-point arc which includes a season best 50 percent (9-18) in the win over Wofford on November 13 and against South Carolina (5-10) on December 30.
BIG SOUTH OPENER - With the 68-60 win over Longwood (January 2), Presbyterian has now won their Big South Conference opener in three consecutive seasons. The Blue Hose posted a season-opening 68-61 win at Charleston Southern last season (1/3/23) and an 82-72 home win over Campbell two years ago (12/29/22).
FIELD GOAL PERCENTAGE - Presbyterian has had five games this season shooting at least 50 percent from the field. The Blue Hose are currently third in the Big South and 70th in the nation in field goal percentage at 47.7 percent (448-939).
SCHOOL SCORING RECORD - Presbyterian scored a school Division I era record for points in a game with 120 in their season opening win over Carolina Christian (November 6). Presbyterian had six double-figure scorers and 12 PC players scored at least two points in the game. The Blue Hose scored 116 points in the win over Virginia Lynchburg (December 18) which is tied for the third most points scored by PC in the Division I era. Seven Blue Hose scored in double-figures and 10 PC players scored at least two points in the game.
REACHING THE CENTURY MARK - PC scored 120 points in the win over Carolina Christian (November 6) which set the program's record for the most points scored in a game in the Division I era. Presbyterian scored 116 points in the win over Virginia Lynchburg (December 18). In the Division I era, the Blue Hose have scored at least 100 points in a game 15 times, and PC is 15-0 in those games. In the 2018-19 season, Presbyterian scored 100 points five times. In the 2017-18, 2023-24, and now the 2024-25 seasons, PC reached the century mark twice. In the 2016-17, 2015-16, 2011-12, and 2007-08 seasons, PC recorded a one hundred point scoring game in each of those seasons.
AXE'EM CLASSIC TITLE – The Blue Hose won the Axe'Em Classic title at Stephen F. Austin, November 21-23 with wins over Stephen F. Austin, Youngstown State, and Monmouth. Stewart was named MVP of the Axe'Em Classic. This was the fourth straight season that the Blue Hose played in a tournament in November. The Axe'Em Classic was the 13th regular-season tournament PC has played in since moving to Division I in 2007-08.
BIG SOUTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Mincy was named Big South Co-Player of the Week on November 11. Mincy was the 10th player in the program's history to earn Big South Player of the Week honors. Mincy earned the award after averaging 18.7 points and eight assists in Presbyterian's home game against Carolina Christian and road games at Charlotte and NC State.
DOUBLE-DOUBLES – The Blue Hose have had seven double-double performances this season. Against Charlotte (November 4), Mincy scored 17 points and dished out 10 assists. Against Carolina Christian (November 6) Mincy scored 11 points and tallied 10 assists. Against Wofford (November 13) Stewart recorded his first double-double of the season with 26 points and 10 rebounds.
Jonah Pierce had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds at Kennesaw State (November 16). Pierce picked up his second double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds against Stephen F. Austin (November 21). Peterson recorded his first career double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds at Tennessee Tech (November 27). Peterson collected his second double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds in the win over Columbia College (December 11). Scott recorded his first double-double of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds in the win over Virginia Lynchburg (December 18).
DOUBLE DIGIT ASSISTS - Mincy began the season with consecutive 10 assists games at Charlotte and at home against Carolina Christian. In both those games, he scored in double-figures as well.
PC COACH QUINTON FERRELL - Quinton Ferrell is in his sixth season as the head coach of his alma mater, Presbyterian College. Ferrell, a former Blue Hose team captain and a 2007 PC graduate, is one of 50 coaches in the NCAA Division I ranks who are coaching their alma maters.
PRESBYTERIAN-GARDNER-WEBB SERIES - Saturday's game will be the 61
st meeting between Presbyterian and Gardner-Webb, who leads the all-time series 36-24. Gardner-Webb defeated PC, 61-60, in their last meeting in last year's Big South Tournament quarterfinals on March 8, 2024. Stewart scored 11 points while Scott scored nine points and grabbed nine rebounds in that game. Presbyterian defeated Gardner-Webb, 77-75, in their last regular-season matchup which came in the Templeton Center on February 7, 2024.
GARDNER-WEBB – The Runnin' Bulldogs have lost six of their last seven games including a 72-63 road loss at Charleston Southern to begin Big South Conference play. Gardner-Webb beat East Carolina, 84-79, on the road before Christmas. Gardner-Webb averages 73.4 points and 35.7 rebounds per game. Guard Darryl Simmons has connected on a team-leading 31 three-point field goals while averaging a team-leading 15.9 points per game.
