HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Presbyterian College women's soccer team dropped a road contest to the High Point Panthers 3-0 on Saturday afternoon at Vert Stadium.
The Panthers struck in the 30th, 63rd, and 64th minutes to take the win, picking up their first victory of the season on the way.
Head coach Matt Smith's team will return home next week in conference action. The Blue Hose will face USC Upstate on Wednesday night at Martin Stadium at 7:00 pm before concluding their home stand on Friday against Winthrop, also at 7:00 pm.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Joellie Giquinto got the scoring going for the Panthers in the first half, scoring in the 30th minute to give High Point the lead going into halftime.
- In the second half, the Panthers added two goals within just 74 seconds of one another to build a 3-0 lead, which would be the final result of the afternoon. Emilia Lieber and Sloan Spees each recorded a shot on goal for the Blue Hose.
- High Point had a 7-0 advantage on corner kicks in the afternoon. Midfielders Fialisa Soederberg and Cassidy Oldham played the full 90 for the Blue Hose. Defenders Ella Williams and Lyla Chadd also played all 90 minutes for PC.

- The USC Upstate Spartans bring a 7-5-1 record going into Wednesday's matchup with PC. The Spartans hold a 4-1 record so far in Big South play.
- PC and USC Upstate are even in the all-time series with each team winning 7 times to go along with one draw. The Spartans won the most recent meeting last season 2-1. Meanwhile, Winthrop holds a 2-6-4 record overall and an 0-3-1 mark in the Big South. The Eagles lead the all-time series with the Blue Hose 12-4-2. The two teams drew 2-2 last year.
