Defense Leads Blue Hose to Big South Road Win at USC Upstate

SPARTANBURG, S.C.   –  Behind the first career goal from redshirt junior defender Bryce Burdette and a stout defensive performance, the Presbyterian Blue Hose (4-4-3, Big South: 1-2-0) picked up a 2-0 road shutout victory at the USC Upstate Spartans (4-6-1, Big South: 2-1-0) on Friday evening.

THOUGHTS FROM COACH FINOTTI
" I am really proud of our guys. I thought tonight's win was our most complete performance of the season. It is not easy to win on the road in conference play. We came in and controlled the game from the start."

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • In the ninth minute, Burdette blasted a shot into the lower left corner of the goal for his first career goal.
  • In the 68th minute, Presbyterian doubled its lead when a shot was deflected into the goal by a USC Upstate defender for an own goal.
