PC Drops Regular Season Finale at Longwood

FARMVILLE, Va.  – The Presbyterian Blue Hose (6-7-5) fell 5-3 to Longwood (3-8-5) on the road to wrap up the regular season on Friday night (Oct. 31).

Iragi Kalala scored early in the second half to get PC within one down 2-1, but three unanswered goals followed to help the Lancers separate in the second half.

Albert Shermer and Mike Walenchok each scored their first career collegiate goals for the Blue Hose.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Aaron Asamoah opened up the scoring for Longwood in the 11th minute, helping the Lancers take a 1-0 lead going into halftime.

The second half saw an explosion of offense. Christer Salvesen extended the Longwood lead to 2-0 just four minutes into the half. Right after, Iragi Kalala got the Blue Hose on the board, cutting the second half deficit to just one.

However, Longwood struck again just under 30 seconds later with a goal from Benjamin Ferrero. Two more goals from the Lancers followed to give the home team a 5-1 lead.

Albert Shermer and Mike Walenchok scored two goals in the final four minutes of the game for the Blue Hose, but the comeback bid came up short in the end.
