COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Presbyterian Blue Hose (3-2) lost to the South Carolina Gamecocks (3-0), 81-61, on the road on Wednesday evening.

Jonah Pierce paced the Blue Hose with 19 points while grabbing nine rebounds.
Carl Parrish chipped in with 15 points.
Jaylen Peterson grabbed 11 rebounds in the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF – Erik Taylor connected on Presbyterian's first two points on a layup. Five minutes into the half, Presbyterian had a one-point lead after a layup from
Jaylen Peterson. Â South Carolina scored 16 of the next 20 points, taking a 19-8 lead with nine minutes left in the half. A basket inside from Pierce was the final points of the half as South Carolina had a 41-22 halftime lead.

SECOND HALF – South Carolina scored the first seven points of the second half. Pierce scored PC's first basket of the half with a score inside. With just under 10 minutes left in the half, South Carolina had pushed their lead to 34 points, 73-39. Parrish, who scored 13 points in the second half, Pierce,
Khalon Hudson, and
Chidi Chiakwelu scored during the final 10 minutes as the Blue Hose finished the game on a 22-8 scoring run during that stretch, cutting South Carolina's final margin of victory to 81-61.
