LAST TIME OUT
After Presbyterian took its season opener 113-45 against Warren Wilson, the Blue Hose enter Friday evening's contest having lost two straight on the road. Wake Forest downed PC 78-41 before Elon defeated PC in North Carolina 93-48 on Monday morning (Nov. 10). 

 


BLUE HOSE BY THE NUMBERS
So far this season, Ja'Cia Cunningham and Allie Sykes lead the Blue Hose in scoring, averaging 10 points per game. Sykes is shooting both 50 percent from the field and the three point line this year. Aretha Linger paces the Blue Hose in rebounding, averaging 5.5 in two games. Cunningham is second with 5.3 rebounds per game. Ore Ogunwolere leads Presbyterian in assists and steals. She has 11 assists and six steals so far this season. Three Blue Hose have recorded two blocked shots to start the year.

 


SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
UNC Greensboro has dropped all three of its games to open the season coming into Friday night's matchup. The Spartans most recently fell to Auburn on the road and have also dropped road contests to Stanford and San Francisco so far this season. Makiah Asidanya leads the Spartans in scoring, averaging 15.7 points per game to rank third in the Southern Conference. She has gone 10-of-21 from the three point line to open the season. Jeni Levine also averages in double figures for UNCG, averaging 11.7 points pe rgame. Last season, the Spartans reached the NCAA Tournament, finishing with a 25-7 record and a 13-1 mark in the conference.

 


PRESBYTERIAN – UNCG ALL-TIME SERIES
The Blue Hose have taken three of the four total meetings with the Spartans. The two teams  most recently met in the 2022-23 season in Greensboro. PC won that matchup 67-54. The Blue Hose won the previous season in Clinton, defeating UNCG 60-53.

 


NEWCOMERS FOR THE BLUE HOSE
Joining the Blue Hose this season are nine newcomers (four transfers and five freshmen). The transfers for Coach Sardin are Ore Ogunwolere, Ja'Cia Cunningham, Krystal Haddock, and Laetitia Kamdoum. Junior guard Ogunwolere comes to the Blue Hose from Union County College, where she led her team to a conference championship and a spot at JUCO Nationals. Cunningham, a senior guard, transfers over from Chicago State, where she averaged 14 points per game in the 2023-24 season, leading the team in scoring. Haddock, a sophomore guard, transfers to PC after spending one season at Tennessee State, while Kamdoum, a junior forward, comes from Cochise College after two seasons.


Freshmen Aretha Linger, Yolanda Floyd, Allie Sykes, Samantha Mullock, and Amani Williams also join the Blue Hose. This is the most freshmen the Blue Hose have had on the roster since the 2022-23 season (also five).

 

 

RETURNERS
The Blue Hose return four from last year's roster. Seniors Shelby Fiddler (6.6 ppg, 2.1 rpg) and Aminata Tal (6.7 ppg, 2.1 rpg) lead the returners for PC. Fiddler and Tal were the third and fourth leading scorers on the team a year ago. Fiddler led the team in three pointers made last season, knocking down 50 for the Blue Hose. She also led the team in minutes played and starts for PC. She started in all 30 games for the Blue Hose, playing in 31.3 minutes per game.


Sophomores Morgan Boyd (2.4 ppg, 2.1 rpg), and Daniella Velez (2.8 ppg, 2.6 rpg) also are back for the Blue Hose this season. Velez led the team in assists last season with 57 on the year. She was also second on the team in three pointers for PC, sinking 16 total. She appeared in 28 games for Presbyterian, starting in 20 of them. Last season, Boyd was second on the team in free throw shooting, making 73.3 percent of her attempts.

 

THE 2025-26 NON-CONFERENCE SLATE
Presbyterian's non-conference lineup includes five home contests and six road games, featuring notable road matchups against ACC opponents Wake Forest on Nov. 6 and Virginia Tech on Dec. 10. The Blue Hose will also travel to face Elon on Nov. 10, UNC Wilmington on Nov. 24, and Furman on Dec. 3.


At home, PC will square off against opponents that include UNC Greensboro on Nov. 14, Erskine on Nov. 17, Eastern Kentucky on Dec. 19, and Jacksonville State on Dec. 21.


The Blue Hose will also compete in the FIU Holiday Tournament, facing Seattle on Nov. 28 and then either FIU or UMBC on Nov. 30. 

 


BIG SOUTH SCHEDULE
Conference play begins December 31 for the Blue Hose, with PC set to take on each of its eight Big South opponents twice in a balanced home-and-away schedule.


At Templeton, PC will face Radford on Dec. 31, High Point on Jan. 7, UNC Asheville on Jan. 17, Charleston Southern on Jan. 24, USC Upstate on Feb. 4, Gardner-Webb on Feb. 14, Winthrop on Feb. 18, and Longwood on Feb. 28.


On the road, the Blue Hose will take on Longwood on Jan. 3, USC Upstate on Jan. 14, Gardner-Webb on Jan. 21, Winthrop on Jan. 28, High Point on Jan. 31, Charleston Southern on Feb. 7, UNC Asheville on Feb. 21, and Radford on Feb. 25.



LAST SEASON
The Blue Hose finished with a 6-24 record and a 4-12 mark in the Big South in the first season of head coach Tiffany Sardin. In league play, the Blue Hose picked up back-to-back wins against USC Upstate on Jan. 8 and UNC Asheville on Jan. 11. Later in the season, the Blue Hose delivered a road win at Radford, taking down the Highlanders 78-71. In non-conference action, Presbyterian picked up wins against NC Central and Newberry.
