Four Presbyterian Men’s Soccer Players Garner CSC Academic All-District Honors

CLINTON, S.C. – Four Presbyterian College Blue Hose men's soccer players were recognized for their performances on the field and in the classroom by being named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team. Senior goalkeeper Tim Baerwalde and sophomores midfielders Max Falconer and Jonas Sundli-Hardig, and defender Gabe Carvalho were CSC Academic All-District team selections.

To be considered for the CSC (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District squad, one must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5, be of sophomore standing or older, and have competed in at least 90 percent of their team's games throughout the season.

TIM BAERWALDE
Baerwalde, who was a Second Team All-Big South selection, was the first goalkeeper in school history to be named All-Big South. This season, Baerwalde recorded six shutouts, which is tied for the second-highest single-season total in Presbyterian's Division I era. The Frankfurt, Germany native claimed the Big South Defensive Player of the Week award on October 20. Baerwalde has a 3.82 GPA, majoring in Business Administration.
 
GABE CARVALHO
This season, Carvalho played an integral role on a Blue Hose defense that recorded six shutouts, which is tied for the second-highest single-season total in Presbyterian's Division I era. The Ottawa, Ontario, Canada native scored the game-tying goal in Presbyterian's win over Radford during the regular season. Carvalho has a 3.80 GPA with an undecided major.

MAX FALCONER
This season, Falconer saw action in 17 games with 16 starts. The Wellington, New Zealand native played an integral role in Presbyterian's offensive attack. Falconer has a 3.77 GPA, majoring in in Business Administration with a concentration in Economics.

JONAS SUNDLI-HARDIG
Last week, Sundli-Hardig was named to the Big South All-Tournament team. For the last two years, Sundli-Hardig has ranked amongst the Big South leaders in assists. This season, the Bergen, Norway native scored two goals (including Presbyterian's first goal in the Big South Tournament quarterfinals win over Radford) while dishing out three assists. Sundli-Hardig has a 3.77 GPA with an undeclared major.
