LAST TIME OUT – Presbyterian fell to Navy 76-55 in their season-opening game at the Templeton Center this past Monday. Triston Wilson led the Blue Hose in scoring with 13 points. Jonah Pierce grabbed 13 rebounds, and Jaylen Peterson grabbed 10 boards in the game.
 
OPENING TIP
EARLIEST FIRST GAME IN SCHOOL HISTORY – Presbyterian's season-opening game against Navy this past Monday, November 3, marked the earliest date that the Blue Hose have begun a season in school history. The previous earliest season opener was last season, with a November 4th opening game at Charlotte.
 
HOME OPENER – Presbyterian is 16-2 in their home opening game while a member of Division I.
 
PC COACH QUINTON FERRELL - Quinton Ferrell is in his seventh season as the head coach of his alma mater, Presbyterian College. Ferrell, a former Blue Hose team captain and a 2007 PC graduate, is one of 51 coaches in the NCAA Division I ranks who are coaching their alma mater.
 
RETURNING LETTERWINNERS - The returning letterwinners: redshirt senior forward Jonah Pierce, redshirt junior forward Jaylen Peterson, who set the program's D1 era record for blocks in a season last year, junior guard Carl Parrish, sophomores guard/forward Iverson King, a Big South All-Freshman team selection, guard Triston Wilson, and guard Luke Allison.  Two players, sophomore guard Khalon Hudson and freshman forward Chidi Chiakwelu will be a part of Presbyterian's playing rotation after redshirting last season.
 
NEWCOMERS - Joining those returners are five newcomers: sophomores guard/forward Josh Pickett, a transfer from the University of Denver, and guard Erik Taylor, a transfer from Sam Houston, and freshmen guards Amare Anderson and JD Bowden, and forward Augustine Ayelyine.
 
POSTSEASON TOURNAMENT - Last year, Presbyterian made its third postseason tournament appearance in the school's Division I era. The Blue Hose have played in the CBI last two seasons, and PC won two games in the CollegeInsider.com Tournament in 2019.
 
ROAD WARRIORS - Presbyterian has won three straight road games entering this season after posting road wins at Longwood, Radford, and UNC Asheville to end last year's regular season. This was the second-most consecutive road wins by the Blue Hose in its Division I era. In the 2011-12 season, Presbyterian had a stretch of five straight road wins.
 
1,000 CAREER POINTS - Jonah Pierce recorded his 1,000th point in his college career with a basket with six seconds left in the Charlotte game  (November 4). Pierce went over the 1,000 points mark in impressive fashion scoring 22 points (shooting a perfect 11-for-11 from the field) in the game.
 
THREE-POINT FIELD GOAL PERCENTAGE - In the 2024-25 season, Presbyterian led the Big South and ranked 41st in the NCAA in three-point field goal percentage at 36.8 percent (239-649). Presbyterian had 14 games last season, shooting over 40 percent from beyond the three-point arc which includes a season best 50 percent (9-18) in the win over Wofford on Nov. 13, at South Carolina (5-10) on Dec. 30, and at home against UNC Asheville (11-22) on Jan. 11.
 
REGULAR SEASON TOURNAMENTS - For the fifth straight season, Presbyterian will play in a tournament in November with the Empire Classic in California. The Blue Hose play Sacramento State, California, and UCLA on the road in the Empire Classic. The Empire Classic will be the 14th regular-season tournament that PC has played in since moving to Division I in 2007-08.  Last season, the Blue Hose won the Axe'Em Classic title at Stephen F. Austin with wins over Stephen F. Austin, Youngstown State, and Monmouth. In the 2021-22 season, the Blue Hose claimed the University of New Orleans Classic title with wins over New Orleans, VMI, and Central Arkansas. In the 2023-24 season, the Blue Hose won two games with victories over North Florida and Northwestern State in the First Coast Classic at North Florida.
 
PRESBYTERIAN-BLUEFIELD SERIES – Wednesday's game will be the first-ever meeting between Presbyterian and Bluefield.
BLUEFIELD  – Last season, Bluefield went 6-19. The Rams play in the Appalachian Athletic Conference while being a member of the NAIA. Senior guard Elijah White has led the Rams in scoring in each of the last two seasons. White scored 10 points in Saturday's game against West Virginia Tech.
