Third Seed Presbyterian Faces Sixth Seed Radford In Big South Tourney Quarterfinals in Martin Stadium

The Presbyterian Blue Hose begin Big South Tournament play at home against the Radford Highlanders in Martin Stadium on Wednesday, November 5, at 7 p.m.

Big South Tournament
Presbyterian won the 2017 Big South Tournament title. The Blue Hose advanced in the Big South Tournament in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2024 tournaments. Last season, Presbyterian defeated Winthrop, 2-1, on the road to advance to the Big South Tournament semifinals.
 
Wednesday's Big South Tournament home game for the Blue Hose will mark the first time since the 2018 Big South Tournament Championship game that Presbyterian has hosted a Big South Tournament game. 
 
Blue Hose By The Numbers
  • Iragi Kalala leads the Blue Hose with five goals.
  • Steven Cordova is second on the team with three goals. Aloni Elfu has scored two goals.
  • Fifteen Blue Hose have scored a goal this season.
  • Cordova and Elfu are tied for the team lead with four assists apiece.
  • Jonas Sundli-Hardig, has recorded three assists.

Big South Weekly Honors
  • On September 8, after contributing to both goals in Presbyterian's win at Coastal Carolina (September 5), Elfu was named Big South Freshman of the Week on September 8. Elfu was the 12th different player in the program's history to earn Big South Freshman of the Week accolades.
  • On October 20, after recording his sixth shutout of the season, Baerwalde claimed Big South Defensive Player of the Week honors. Baerwalde was the seventh different player in school history to capture the Big South Defensive Player of the Week award.
  • On October 27, after scoring the game-winning goal in Presbyterian's 3-2 win over Radford on October 25, Thomas Stofring was named Big South Freshman of the Week. Stofring was the 13th different player in the program's history to capture Big South Freshman of the Week honors.
 
Presbyterian-Radford Series
Wednesday's game will be the 22nd meeting between Presbyterian and Radford, with Radford leading the series, 9-8-4. A couple of weeks ago, Presbyterian defeated Radford, 3-2, at home behind goals from Gabe Carvalho, Kalala, and Stofring.  
 
Scouting Radford
The Highlanders have wins over Howard and Longwood.  Radford has been outscored 32-16 this season. Junior forward Kenshin Akimoto leads Radford with six goals.
