LAST TIME OUT –  Presbyterian lost to East Carolina, 74-53, on the road this past Wednesday. Redshirt junior forward Jaylen Peterson scored a career-high 17 points while grabbing eight rebounds in the game.
 
OPENING TIP
INSIDE THE STAT SHEET – Redshirt senior forward Jonah Pierce leads the Blue Hose in scoring at 13.7 points per game. Pierce leads the Big South in rebounding at 8.5 boards per game. Junior guard Carl Parrish is second on the team in scoring at 13.1 points per game while connecting on a team-high 29 three-point field goals this season. Eight PC players have knocked down at least one three-point field goal this season. Peterson is second on the team in rebounding at 6.9 rebounds per contest. Sophomore guard Triston Wilson ranks amongst the Big South leaders, averaging a team-leading 3.3 assists per game. Pierce, Peterson, and redshirt freshman forward Chidi Chiakwelu average around a blocked shot per game. Chiakwelu ranks third in the Big South at 1.4 blocked shots per game. As a team, Presbyterian is shooting 44.8 percent from the field while averaging 66.8 points per game.

BLOCKED SHOTS - Chiakwelu recorded six blocked shots against Wofford (December 3), which is tied for the highest single-game total in Presbyterian's DI era. Peterson has also posted six blocked shots in a game in his career. Peterson accomplished that feat at Winthrop last season (January 29, 2025). 
 
SCORING DEFENSE - Presbyterian ranks first in the Big South and 51st in the nation in scoring defense after limiting its opponents to 67.3 points per game.
 
FIVE DOUBLE-FIGURE SCORERS - In Presbyterian's 80-72 win over Morehead State (December 6), five PC players scored in double-figures, which marked the first time since a home win over Virginia-Lynchburg on December 18, 2024, that Presbyterian had at least five players score in double-figures in a game.
 
BIG SOUTH FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK - Chiakwelu was named Big South Conference Freshman of the Week (November 17). Chiakwelu is the 13th player in the program's history to earn the Big South Freshman of the Week award.
 
NEARLY RECORD-BREAKING REBOUNDS TOTALS – Peterson grabbed 17 rebounds in the win over Bluefield (November 5). His 17 rebounds were tied for the fourth-highest single-game rebounds total in Presbyterian's DI era. The DI era record for rebounds in a game is 18.  Pierce grabbed 16 rebounds in the win over Morehead State (December 6), which was tied for the sixth-highest single-game total in Presbyterian's DI era.
 
DOUBLE-DIGIT BOARDS – Pierce has grabbed double-figure rebounds five times this season. He corralled 13 rebounds against Navy (November 3) and ETSU (November 8). He recorded 14 rebounds at Sacramento State (November 16) and at Wofford (December 3).  In Presbyterian's last game, a win over Morehead State (December 6), he tallied 16 rebounds.
 
PC COACH QUINTON FERRELL - Quinton Ferrell is in his seventh season as the head coach of his alma mater, Presbyterian College. Ferrell, a former Blue Hose team captain and a 2007 PC graduate, is one of 51 coaches in the NCAA Division I ranks who are coaching their alma mater.
 
PRESBYTERIAN-MANHATTAN SERIES – Sunday's game will be the second meeting between Presbyterian and Manhattan, who won the previous matchup, 86-81, in overtime at PC, December 21, 2024. Parrish led four PC double-figure scorers with a career-high 23 points.

MANHATTAN – The Jaspers enter the game on a three-game losing streak. This season, Manhattan has collected wins over St. Joseph's (Brooklyn), Utah Tech, Mississippi State, and Fairfield. Manhattan averages 77.4 points per game while allowing its opponents to average 83.6 points per game. Junior guard Jaden Winston leads Manhattan in scoring at 15.0 points per game. Sophomore forward Fraser Roxburgh leads the team in rebounding at 6.3 boards per game while averaging 11.6 points per game.
