CLINTON, S.C. – Behind four double-figure scorers, the Presbyterian Blue Hose (7-8) overpowered the Truett McConnell Bears in a 91-64 win at the Templeton Center on Sunday afternoon.
Jonah Pierce recorded a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Triston Wilson scored 18 points and dished out six assists.
Carl Parrish scored 16 points with four assists.
Josh Pickett rounded out PC's double-figure scorers with 14 points.
Jaylen Peterson nearly recorded a double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF – Pierce scored the game's first four points. Pickett connected on a three from the wing, giving the Blue Hose a 9-6 lead with 16:51 on the clock. Truett McConnell tied the score at nine, then the Blue Hose scored 10 straight points to take the lead for good. Pickett scored on a fast break layup, giving the Blue Hose a 19-9 lead. Wilson scored five points, and Peterson scored three points during the scoring run.  With 12:09 on the clock, Parrish knocked down one of his four three-point field goals, pushing the Blue Hose in front, 22-10. With five minutes on the clock, Presbyterian held a 38-23 advantage, then the Blue Hose scored seven straight points, taking a 44-23 lead when Pickett scored on a step-back jumper with 2:15 left in the half. Peterson, Pierce, and
Khalon Hudson also scored during the run. At the first half buzzer, Parrish knocked down a three from the wing, giving the Blue Hose a 51-25 halftime lead.
SECOND HALF – Wilson began the half scoring on a tip-in layup. After another three from Parrish, the Blue Hose held their largest lead of the game, 63-31, with 14:10 on the clock. Truett McConnell went on a 13-3 scoring run, cutting Presbyterian's lead to 66-44 with 9:29 left in the game. Truett McConnell cut Presbyterian's lead to 21 points a couple of times, but could never get any closer as the Blue Hose finished non-conference play with a 91-64 win. Â

- The victory marked Presbyterian's seventh win of the season, which marks the third straight season that the Blue Hose have won at least seven non-conference games.
