The Presbyterian Blue Hose (3-3) put their three-match winning streak on the line with three matches in Alabama this weekend, February 14-16. Presbyterian begins the trip at No. 18 Alabama (7-1) on Friday, February 14 at 7 p.m. The Blue Hose travel to Birmingham, Alabama to play Samford (7-2) on Saturday, February 15 at 2 p.m., and the weekend ends with a road match at UAB (4-4) on Sunday, February 16 at 2 p.m.

Presbyterian enters the weekend fresh off a road win at Queens and a doubleheader road sweep at Belmont Abbey.

BIG SOUTH PRESEASON POLL
Presbyterian was picked to finish second in the preseason Big South coaches poll. Gardner-Webb, who won the Big South regular-season title last season, was picked first. After the Blue Hose in the poll was UNC Asheville, the defending Big South tournament champions, who were picked third. Longwood and Radford round out the poll in fourth and fifth place respectively.

In Presbyterian's men's tennis program's history, the Blue Hose have captured three Big South regular-season titles (2014, 2017, and 2023) and three Big South Tournament titles (2017, 2021, and 2023).

Friday's match will be the first ever meeting between Presbyterian and Alabama. The Crimson Tide have won four straight matches and their lone loss of the season was at No. 5 Virginia. Roan Jones is ranked 76
th in the ITA Singles Rankings. The doubles duo of Jones and Damien Nezar are 39
th and Andrii Zimnokh and Zach Forster are 48th in the ITA Doubles Rankings.

SAMFORD
Saturday's match will be the fifth meeting between Presbyterian and Samford, who has won the previous four contests. Samford defeated Presbyterian, 6-1, on the road last season, March 7, 2024. Cardoso recorded a straight sets win at number five singles in the match. The Bulldogs enter Saturday's contest on a seven-match winning streak with wins over Alabama A&M, Alabama State, Southern Miss, South Alabama, UAB, Kennesaw State, and Piedmont. Â Will Gray, Sebastian Harrison, Hayden Menon, and Darcy Nicholls have four singles wins. The doubles teams of Vitorio Sardinha and Harrison, and Sandeep Mohandoss and Menon have collected five wins apiece.

Sunday's match will be the first ever meeting between Presbyterian and UAB. This season, UAB has wins over Southern Miss, Tulane, South Alabama and North Alabama. Conor Flynn, Noah Malige, and Juan Pablo Valdez have each picked up five singles wins this season. The doubles tandem of Malige and Ondrej Valek has won a team-leading five matches.
