Women’s Hoops Central: Presbyterian vs UNC Asheville

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's basketball team will host their final home game of the 2024-25 season on Wednesday, February 26, at 6:30 p.m. as they take on the UNC Asheville Bulldogs. This game will serve as the program's annual Breast Cancer Awareness Game, supporting the Play4Kay – Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to show their support in the fight against cancer.

CELEBRATING CAREER MILESTONES
Before the game, senior guard Paige Kindseth and junior guard/forward Kishyah Anderson will be honored for their impressive career milestones. Kindseth recently surpassed the 500-rebound mark, while Anderson has now accumulated over 1,000 career points at the collegiate level.

LAST TIME OUT
The Blue Hose took down the Radford Highlanders last Saturday with an impressive stat line. Kindseth scored a career-high 28 points while grabbing a career-high tying 16 rebounds. Shelby Fiddler connected on five three-point field goals on her way to 17 points. Kishyah Anderson scored 11 points. Aminata Tal scored nine points off the bench. Laney Scoggins scored eight points and grabbed seven rebounds.

A LOOK AT THE BLUE HOSE
- Presbyterian has averaged 53.9 ppg while recording a 37.1 field goal percentage.
- Junior guard/forward Kishyah Anderson leads the team with 13.6 ppg while shooting at a Big South leading 43.4 rate from the field.
- Senior guard Paige Kindseth is a not far behind with 11.7 ppg while leading the team with 8.6 rpg.
- Junior guard Shelby Fiddler leads the team from beyond the arc, with 40 made three-pointers while shooting at 28.2 percent from range.
- The Blue Hose are led by first year head coach Tiffany Sardin.

KINDSETH KILLIN' IT
Paige Kindseth earned the title of Big South Player of the Week on January 13 after delivering back-to-back standout performances against conference foes the week prior. Across the two games, Kindseth averaged 21 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2 assists while shooting 48.6 percent from the field (17-of-35) and an outstanding 87.5 percent from the free-throw line (7-of-8). She also contributed four steals and maintained a strong court presence, limiting her turnovers to just one per game.
 
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
- UNC Asheville has yet to win a conference game and looks to turn this around on Wednesday.
- The Bulldogs have averaged 57.3 ppg while shooting at a 36.1 rate from the field.
- Senior guard LaImani Simmons has led the team offensively with 10.4 ppg while shooting at a 37.2 field goal percentage.
- Fifth year forward Abigail Wilson had also taken 10.4 ppg while shooting at a 43.7 rate from the field. She is also the Bulldogs leading rebounder with 5.7 rpg and 155 total boards.
- Fifth year guard Dakota McCaughan is one of the best playmakers on the squad with a team leading 84 assists and 54 steals.
- UNC Asheville is led by first year head coach Tynesha Lewis.
 
THE ALL-TIME SERIES
Saturday's game will feature the 37th meeting between Presbyterian and UNC Asheville since the Blue Hose joined Division I in 2007. Last season, PC defeated Asheville in both outings and picked up the win over them earlier this year. The all-time series between the two teams is currently tied at 18-18.
