PC Returns to Big South Play at Longwood

The Presbyterian Blue Hose (5-10) travels to Farmville, Virginia to play Big South Conference foe the Longwood Lancers (5-7) on Friday, March 28 at Noon.
 
Presbyterian coach Juan Pablo Boada is in his first season at the helm of Presbyterian's men's tennis program.

This spring, David Mamalat leads the team with six wins. Evgenios Vasilakis and Daksh Prasad are tied for second on the team with five wins apiece. The doubles team of Pedro Cardoso and Prasad lead the team with six wins. The doubles duo of Mamalat and Vasilakis have tallied four wins.


BIG SOUTH PRESEASON POLL
Presbyterian was picked to finish second in the preseason Big South coaches' poll. Gardner-Webb, who won the Big South regular-season title last season, was picked first. After the Blue Hose in the poll was UNC Asheville, the defending Big South tournament champions, who were picked third. Longwood and Radford round out the poll in fourth and fifth place, respectively.
 
In Presbyterian's men's tennis program's history, the Blue Hose have captured three Big South regular-season titles (2014, 2017, and 2023) and three Big South Tournament titles (2017, 2021, and 2023).
 
LONGWOOD
Presbyterian has won the last 11 matchups between the two teams. In their most recent meeting, on March 17, 2024, Presbyterian defeated Longwood, 6-1, at home. The Blue Hose beat the Lancers, 7-0, in their last match in Farmville on March 27, 2023.
 
The Lancers have won two of their last three matches with wins over George Mason and Howard. Timeo Puech has tallied a team-high seven wins in dual match play with the victories all coming on court one. The doubles tandem of Puech and Mauricio Gonzalez Paiva has recorded six victories all at the number one spot.
