Blue Hose Add Sam Houston Transfer Erik Taylor

CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian Blue Hose head men's basketball coach Quinton Ferrell announced the signing of Sam Houston transfer Erik Taylor, a 6-foot-1 guard. This past season, Taylor saw action in 25 games as a freshman.
 
"We are very excited to have Erik in our program," Ferrell said. "Erik is a very dynamic point guard who can score and facilitate. He brings a competitive spirit to the basketball court that is contagious and will elevate the entire team. Erik is a high-character young man with a tremendous work ethic that will serve our program and the Clinton community well. I look forward to having him and his family as a part of our Blue Hose family!"

This past season, Taylor shot 42 percent from beyond the three-point arc while averaging 3.1 points per game. Taylor recorded four double-figure scoring games, including scoring a season-high 13 points against the University of Dallas on December 28. He scored nine points while connecting on a couple of three-point field goals against ACC foe Pittsburgh on December 21. He connected on three three-point baskets while scoring 11 points against WKU on February 20.
 
The Orlando, Florida native was a three-time All-District and a two-time All-Metro selection at Edgewater High School. He was ranked among the top players in the state of Florida by FloridaHoops.com. Taylor played his senior season for national powerhouse Gainesville, Florida's The Rock School.
