Men’s Tennis with Two Road Matches in North Carolina this Week

The Presbyterian Blue Hose (5-11) faces the UNC Asheville Bulldogs (9-7) and the Elon Phoenix (7-6) on the road this week.  First, the Blue Hose play UNC Asheville in their final Big South match on Thursday, April 3 at 2 p.m. in Asheville, North Carolina. Presbyterian finishes the week in Elon, North Carolina against Elon this Saturday, April 5 at 4 p.m.

This spring, David Mamalat and Daksh Prasad lead the team with six wins apiece. Evgenios Vasilakis has picked up five singles wins. The doubles team of Pedro Cardoso and Prasad lead the team with seven wins. The doubles duos of Mamalat / Vasilakis and Eduardo Valentin / Denim Yadav have collected four wins apiece.  

UNC ASHEVILLE
Presbyterian has won four of the last six matches against UNC Asheville. UNC Asheville won both meetings last season including a 4-2 win in the semifinals of the Big South Tournament. The Blue Hose captured the doubles point and Vasilakis posted a singles win in that match.
 
UNC Asheville won the Big South Tournament title last season. UNC Asheville enters Thursday's match on a three-match losing streak with losses to Elon, Charlotte, and Gardner-Webb. Freddy Murray leads the team with 11 wins all coming on court one. Tared Erlewein has eight singles wins with six of those victories coming at number two. The doubles tandem of Erlewein and Griffin Lovern leads the team with four wins.
  
ELON
Elon has won two of the last three meetings against PC including a 5-2 win last season on March 10, 2024. Presbyterian defeated Elon, 4-2, in their previous matchup at Elon on March 26, 2023.
 
Elon enters Sunday's match with wins in six of their last seven matches. Rafael Ymer leads the team with nine wins all coming at number two singles. The doubles team of Ymer and Jack Curtis lead the team with six wins.
