Blue Hose End 2025 Trek Against Highlanders

CLINTON, S.C. – The 2025 regular season reached its finish line for the Presbyterian College softball team on Saturday afternoon, coming up short in a doubleheader versus new Big South champion Radford. PC's last two bouts concluded with scores of 10-0 and 3-2.

The Blue Hose celebrated seniors Mallory Fletcher, Emma Yanes, Kelby Goodrum, and Kendall Owens prior to the 10:00 AM start, ending their regular season at 21-29 (4-14 in league meetings).

GAME ONE – RADFORD def. PC, 10-0 (5 INNINGS)

- After clearing the fence three times in the series opener less than 24 hours ago throughout a four-hour storm delay, Radford (who clinched the conference title outright) scored 10 runs in the first half of Saturday's twinbill without any homers in their arsenal.

- The Highlanders stacked up back-to-back five-pieces early and cruised to the Game Two victory, as rightfielder Emily Smith logged a couple of extra-base swings that brought in a total of four scores.

- Kasey Wolfe and Grace Kelley shared their time on the mound in the penultimate game of the spring, while Radford starter Morgan Cooper held PC to three knocks and zero walks.

GAME TWO – RADFORD def. PC, 3-2

- The '25 finale was the 14th time that Presbyterian was involved in a one-run decision this year, unable to bring the potential tying run home in the last inning and finishing Game Three with only a pair of connections at the plate.

- Wolfe and Fletcher each had a run-scoring single that nearly bookended the affair, although the contest was ultimately decided by an RBI-ground out from Radford in the top of the 6th that gave them just enough space to cement the sweep.

- Junior pitcher Peyton Duncan ends the campaign with 163 innings of work, throwing a complete game for the 14th time this semester in a losing effort. Her duel with Highlander Abby Peace yielded similar numbers when compared to each other, as they faced nearly the same number of batters (27 vs. 28) and both surpassed 110 pitches.
