Built at PC, Brody Fahr Now Thriving at the Next Level

LINCOLN, Neb. – Former Presbyterian College infielder Brody Fahr is continuing to grow as a professional, now in the middle of his debut season with the Lincoln Saltdogs of the American Association.

After finishing his four-year collegiate career at PC in 2024, Fahr returned to the MLB Draft League for a second summer, joining the Frederick Keys and continuing his pursuit of professional baseball. Though a few teams expressed interest late in the draft process or as potential free agent options, Fahr didn't receive an offer. Determined to keep playing, he turned to the independent league route.

"I felt like I was close, so I wanted to keep going," Fahr said. "I knew that if I kept showing up and doing the right things, something good would happen."

Fahr made the most of his time with Frederick, hitting .311 across a team-high 69 games. He tallied 73 hits, 50 runs, 14 doubles, one triple, two home runs, and 37 RBIs, while drawing 59 walks and stealing 10 bases. His .450 on-base percentage was among the best in the league, helping solidify his case as one of the league's most productive and consistent hitters.

When his time with the Keys ended, Fahr was connected with the Saltdogs thanks to a familiar face. Former PC catcher Dalton Reeves had played in Lincoln the year before and passed Fahr's name along to manager Brett Jodie, who offered a contract shortly after reviewing his swing and performance.

"Dalton helped me get my foot in the door," Fahr said. "The manager liked what he saw, and once I got the offer, it felt like a great opportunity."

Now in the heart of the 2025 season, Fahr has appeared in 37 games for Lincoln. He is batting .228 with 31 hits, including 5 doubles and 2 home runs, while adding 13 RBIs, 11 walks, and 10 stolen bases. He has also scored 21 runs in 136 at-bats, continuing to contribute in multiple areas of the game.

One of his best performances came on May 14 in a win over the Sioux Falls Canaries, when he recorded three hits, including a double, drove in three runs, scored once, drew a walk, and stole a base in a well-rounded offensive showing.

Fahr has adjusted well to professional pitching, noting the increased velocity and command compared to the college level.

"These guys have more velo and two or three offspeed pitches they can throw for strikes," he said. "You don't get as many mistakes, and the scoring is lower, so every at-bat really matters."

One adjustment Fahr has embraced is the use of wooden bats, something he believes suits his swing well.

"I actually like wood better than metal," he said. "I can feel the barrel more, and it's more comfortable. It fits the way I hit."

Fahr credits Presbyterian College with preparing him for the challenges of pro ball. A four-year starter in the infield, he became known for his consistency, leadership, and work ethic. He praised former coaches Elton Pollock, John O'Neil, and Trey Polewski for helping him develop without overhauling his style.

"They helped me focus on my strengths and didn't try to change who I was as a hitter," Fahr said. "That gave me confidence."

"Brody is one of the most dependable and consistent players we've ever had in our program," said Presbyterian head coach Elton Pollock. "He showed up every day ready to work, and he always put the team first. Brody had a quiet confidence about him and a relentless drive to compete. It's no surprise he's finding success at the professional level. He represents everything we want our program to be."

Brody Fahr and Coach P

Fahr continues to stay connected with the PC program, returning during the offseason to train and catch up with the staff. He also remains close with several former teammates.

"I was back at PC in the offseason and Coach O'Neil was still hitting me ground balls for hours," Fahr said. "It still feels like home. The relationships I built there mean everything to me."

Looking ahead, Fahr's goal is to earn a shot at affiliated baseball and continue rising in the professional ranks.

"I'd love to get signed and play in the minors," he said. "It would be great to join guys like Joel, Charlie, and Daniel and maybe even face them one day. I'm just going to keep showing up and doing my job."
