Blue Hose Fall to Panthers

ATHENS, Ga. – The Presbyterian Blue Hose (2-6) lost to the FIU Panthers (4-4), 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-14) in the Georgia Bulldogs Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

Julia Yurkovich paced the Blue Hose with seven kills. Elyse Hutchinson added five kills to PC's efforts. Aubrie Arnold recorded 19 digs.
 
SET ONE – FIU 25, PC 22
  •  Back and forth set one. PC scored the set's first two points after two kills from Emma McHatten.
  • PC scored four of the first six points. FIU tied the set at four. The set would be tied four more times.
  • With the score tied at 10, the Blue Hose, behind an FIU attack error and kills from Yurkovich and Dorlouis moved in front 13-10. PC maintained the lead, even pushing it to a four-point advantage, 18-14, after another FIU attack error.
  • FIU scored six of the next eight points, tying the score at 20. FIU scored two straight points, going back in front. Then, the Blue Hose scored two straight points after an Ashley Miller kill and an FIU attack error, tying the score at 22. The Panthers scored the final three points of the set for a 25-22 set one win.
SET TWO – FIU 25, PC 21
  • FIU scored four of the first five points of the set.
  • PC tied the score at four after a kill by Yurkovich.
  • The Blue Hose scored three of the next five points, taking a 7-5 lead after a kill from Hutchinson.
  • FIU would score two straight points, tying the score at seven. The score would be tied at 8, 10, 12, 14, 15, 18.
  • With the score tied at 18, FIU scored four straight points, taking control of the set. FIU took a 2-0 lead after posting a 25-21 win in the second set.
SET THREE – FIU 25, PC 14 
  • FIU scored 10 of the first 14 points to take control of the third set. The Blue Hose were unable to get any closer for the rest of the set.
