PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Presbyterian Blue Hose (2-8) battled the Temple Owls (7-4) in three contested sets before falling 3-0 on the road in the first match of the Cherry & White Tournament on Friday afternoon.
Elyse Hutchinson paced the Blue Hose with eight kills.
Julia Yurkovich tallied seven kills in the match.
Anisa Dorlouis led the Blue Hose with 22 assists.

SET ONE  – Temple 25, PC 22
The Blue Hose began the match scoring four of the first five points. Presbyterian pushed their lead to 7-3 after a kill by Hutchinson. Temple got within one point at 7-6, but then the Blue Hose pushed their advantage to 12-8 after kills from Hutchinson and Dorlouis. Presbyterian maintained the lead until Temple tied the set at 16. The score would be tied at 17 and 19. Temple took the lead 20-18. Presbyterian tied the score at 20 after an ace by
Aubrie Arnold. The score would be knotted at 21 and 22 before Temple scored the final three points to close out the set win.

SET TWO – Temple 25, PC 17
Presbyterian jumped in front 4-1 behind two service aces from Yurkovich.
Temple scored four straight points, taking a 5-4 lead. The set would be tied at 5, 6, and 7. With the score tied at seven, Temple scored five of the next six points, moving in front 12-8.
The Blue were able to cut Temple's lead to 16-14 after a kill by Hutchinson, but that would be as close as they would get the rest of the set.

SET THREE – Temple 28, PC 26Â
Another tightly contested set. With the score tied at six, Presbyterian scored four straight points behind kills from Dorlouis and Hutchinson.
Temple cut PC's lead to 10-9. Presbyterian scored four of the next five points, increasing their lead to 14-10.
Presbyterian scored 10 of the next 19 points, taking a 24-19 lead after a kill by Yurkovich. Temple staved off four set points, tying the score at 24. The two teams would exchange points until the score was tied at 26; Temple scored the final two points to win the match.
