THOUGHTS FROM COACH FINOTTI
"We are disappointed in the result. It felt like the first half we had complete control. The game was being played the way we wanted it to be played. Â In the second half, we had a controversial call go against us. We had four or five full chances to win the game, we didn't take the chances well, and so we ended up with a draw in a game that we felt like we should have won."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the 49th minute, ETSU was awarded a penalty kick. ETSU's penalty kick shot by Ryan Suckling was sent toward the right post. Presbyterian's goalkeeper Tim Baerwalde made a diving save, but Suckling corralled the deflection and put the rebound in the back of the net.
- In the 77th minute, Presbyterian's Jonas Sundli-Hardig made a beautiful through pass to Aloni Elfu just inside the top of the box. Elfu passed the ball to the left side of the box to Kalala, who blasted a shot into the upper right corner of the goal, tying the score at one. Kalala's goal was his second of the season.
NOTABLES
- Presbyterian finished the game with an 18-15 advantage in shots. Steven Cordova led the Blue Hose with six shots, with two shots on goal. Kalala and AJ Acree recorded three shots apiece. Alessandro Libertucci and Elfu collected two shots each. Sundli-Hardig and Adrian Buri posted the Blue Hose's other two shots.Â
- Acree nearly scored the game-winning goal when his shot from 15 yards out hit the crossbar and bounced down, but didn't go over the goal line in the 88th minute.Â
- Baerwalde finished the game with a season-high seven saves.Â
