LAST TIME OUT –  Presbyterian defeated Gardner-Webb, 92-55, on the road last Saturday. The 37-point win marked the Blue Hose's largest margin of victory in a Big South road game in the program's history. Redshirt senior forward Jonah Pierce posted a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Sophomore guard Triston Wilson scored 19 points while dishing out six assists. Redshirt junior forward Jaylen Peterson scored 18 points. Sophomore guard Khalon Hudson scored 17 points off the bench while shooting 7-for-8 from the field.
 
OPENING TIP
INSIDE THE STAT SHEET – Pierce leads the Blue Hose in scoring at 15.8 points per game. Pierce leads the Big South and ranks 28th in the nation in rebounding at 9.5 boards per game. Pierce is eighth in the nation with a Big South leading ten double-doubles. Junior guard Carl Parrish is second on the team in scoring at 13.5 points per game while connecting on a team-high 49 three-point field goals this season. Ten PC players have knocked down at least one three-point field goal this season. Peterson is second on the team in rebounding at 7.2 rebounds per contest while averaging 10.2 points per game. Wilson ranks amongst the Big South leaders, averaging a team-leading 3.6 assists per game. Wilson has dished out at least five assists in seven games this season. Pierce, Peterson, and redshirt freshman forward Chidi Chiakwelu average around a blocked shot per game. Pierce ranks fourth in the Big South at 1.4 blocked shots per game. The Blue Hose are second in the Big South and 59th in the nation in rebounding margin, averaging 5.4 rebounds per game more than its opponents. Pierce ranks first in the Big South and 8th in the nation with ten double-doubles. Pierce also leads the Big South and ranks 28th in the nation averaging 9.5 rebounds per game.
 
BIG SOUTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Pierce was named Big South Player of the Week (January 19) after averaging 22 points and 12 rebounds in Presbyterian's wins over UNC Asheville and Gardner-Webb. Pierce is the 13th different PC player to earn Player of the Week honors in the program's history.
 
BLOCKED SHOTS - Chiakwelu recorded six blocked shots against Wofford (December 3), which is tied for the highest single-game total in Presbyterian's DI era. Jaylen Peterson has also posted six blocked shots in a game in his career. Peterson accomplished that feat at Winthrop last season (January 29, 2025). 
 
DOUBLE DIGIT BOARDS – Pierce has grabbed double-figure rebounds 12 times this season. He corralled 13 rebounds against Navy (November 3) and ETSU (November 8). He recorded 14 rebounds at Sacramento State (November 16) and at Wofford (December 3).  In Presbyterian's win over Morehead State (December 6), he tallied 16 rebounds. At Manhattan (December 21), he grabbed 11 boards. In Presbyterian's last game in the win over Truett McConnell (December 28), he grabbed 11 rebounds. In the win over USC Upstate (January 3), he collected 12 rebounds. At Radford (January 7), Pierce recorded 11 rebounds. At Longwood (January 10), he grabbed 10 rebounds.  In the win over UNC Asheville (January 14), he recorded 11 rebounds. In the win over Gardner-Webb (January 17), Pierce collected 13 rebounds.
 
PC COACH QUINTON FERRELL - Quinton Ferrell is in his seventh season as the head coach of his alma mater, Presbyterian College. Ferrell, a former Blue Hose team captain and a 2007 PC graduate, is one of 51 coaches in the NCAA Division I ranks who are coaching their alma mater.
 
PRESBYTERIAN-CHARLESTON SOUTHERN SERIES – Wednesday's game will be the 42^nd meeting between Presbyterian and Charleston Southern, with Charleston Southern leading the series, 28-13. Presbyterian has won the last two games in the Templeton Center between the two teams, including a 71-61 victory last season, on January 22, 2025. Parrish scored 11 points in that win.

CHARLESTON SOUTHERN – The Buccaneers began Big South play with wins over Gardner-Webb and UNC Asheville. Charleston Southern enters the game on a three-game losing streak with losses to Winthrop, High Point, and UNC Asheville. Redshirt junior guard Brycen Blaine is third in the Big South in scoring at 17.6 points per game. Charleston Southern leads the Big South and ranks third in the nation, averaging 12.3 three-point field goals made per game.
