CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian Blue Hose (1-0) begin the season with a dominant 7-0 victory over the Emmanuel Lions (3-1) at the Templeton Tennis Courts on Tuesday afternoon. With the win, the Blue Hose have won their home opening match in nine of the last ten seasons.
DOUBLES
Presbyterian posted wins at number one and two doubles to capture the doubles point. The doubles duo of
David Mamalat and
Matija Samardzic posted PC's first win of the season with a 6-3 victory at number one doubles. Emmanuel won on court three. Then, the doubles tandem of
Daksh Prasad and
Eduardo Valentin clinched the doubles point for Presbyterian with a 7-5 win at the number two spot.
SINGLES
Presbyterian won all six singles matches to claim the overall victory. At number four singles, Valentin posted a straight sets 6-2, 6-2 win. At number three singles, Samardzic put the Blue Hose in front 3-0 with a 6-3, 6-2 victory. At number two singles, Prasad clinched the overall win for the Blue Hose with a 6-4, 6-4 victory.
Victor Mayer recorded a 7-5, 6-1 win on court six. Mamalat tallied a 7-5, 6-0 win at number one singles. At number five singles,
Dario Navarro recorded a 6-1, 6-7 (6-8), 1-0 (10-4) win to complete the singles sweep.
