LAST TIME OUT –  Behind four double-figure scorers and two double-doubles, the Presbyterian Blue Hose beat the USC Upstate Spartans, 86-77, in their Big South Conference opener at the Templeton Center last Saturday. Redshirt senior forward Jonah Pierce recorded his seventh double-double of the season with a career-high 29 points to go along with 12 rebounds. Sophomore guard Triston Wilson scored a career-high 23 points while shooting 17-for-18 from the free throw line. Redshirt junior forward Jaylen Peterson collected his first double-double of the season with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Junior guard Carl Parrish rounded out Presbyterian's double-digit scorers with 11 points.
 
OPENING TIP
INSIDE THE STAT SHEET – Pierce leads the Blue Hose in scoring at 15.4 points per game. Pierce leads the Big South and ranks 37th in the nation in rebounding at 9.1 boards per game. Pierce is 13th in the nation with a Big South leading seven double-doubles. Parrish is second on the team in scoring at 12.9 points per game while connecting on a team-high 37 three-point field goals this season. Ten PC players have knocked down at least one three-point field goal this season. Peterson is second on the team in rebounding at 7.6 rebounds per contest. Wilson ranks amongst the Big South leaders, averaging a team-leading 3.7 assists per game. Wilson has dished out at least five assists in six games this season. Pierce, Peterson, and redshirt freshman forward Chidi Chiakwelu average around a blocked shot per game. Pierce and Chiakwelu rank third in the Big South at 1.30 blocked shots per game. As a team, Presbyterian is shooting 45.9 percent from the field while averaging 70.4 points per game.
 
OPENING TIP
BIG SOUTH OPENER – After last Saturday's 86-77 Big South opening win over USC Upstate, the Blue Hose have won their league opener in four straight seasons.
 
BLOCKED SHOTS - Chiakwelu recorded six blocked shots against Wofford (December 3), which was tied for the highest single-game total in Presbyterian's DI era. Peterson has also posted six blocked shots in a game in his career. Peterson accomplished that feat at Winthrop last season (January 29, 2025). 
 
NCAA RANKINGS - Presbyterian ranks second in the Big South and 80th in the nation in scoring defense after limiting its opponents to 68.9 points per game. The Blue Hose are second in the Big South and 61st in the nation in rebounding margin, averaging 6.4 rebounds per game more than its opponents. 
 
DOUBLE DIGIT BOARDS – Jonah Pierce has grabbed double-figure rebounds eight times this season. He corralled 13 rebounds against Navy (November 3) and ETSU (November 8). He recorded 14 rebounds at Sacramento State (November 16) and at Wofford (December 3).  In Presbyterian's win over Morehead State (December 6), he tallied 16 rebounds. At Manhattan (December 21), he grabbed 11 boards. In Presbyterian's last game in the win over Truett McConnell (December 28), he grabbed 11 rebounds. In the win over USC Upstate (January 3), he collected 12 rebounds.
 
PROGRAM RECORD FREE THROWS MADE AND ATTEMPTED - In Presbyterian's 86-77 win over USC Upstate (January 3), the Blue Hose set the program's DI era record with 31 made free throws and 43 free throw attempts. Triston Wilson made a school DI era record 17 free throws in the game.
 
PC COACH QUINTON FERRELL - Quinton Ferrell is in his seventh season as the head coach of his alma mater, Presbyterian College. Ferrell, a former Blue Hose team captain and a 2007 PC graduate, is one of 51 coaches in the NCAA Division I ranks who are coaching their alma mater.
 
PRESBYTERIAN-RADFORD SERIES – Wednesday's game is the 36th meeting between Presbyterian and Radford, with Radford leading the series, 24-11. Radford beat PC, 74-69, in overtime in their last matchup, which came in the Big South Tournament quarterfinals, March 7, 2025. Presbyterian beat Radford, 80-73, in their last meeting at Radford, February 22, 2025. Former Blue Hose standout Kobe Stewart led the Blue Hose with 26 points. Parrish scored 12 points in the win.

RADFORD – The Highlanders enter the game on a three-game winning streak with wins over VMI, Shenandoah, and USC Upstate. Junior guard Dennis Parker, Jr., leads the Big South in scoring at 19.7 points per game. Radford averages 82.1 points per game while opponents average 78.1 points per game.
