DeLAND, Fla. – Following back-to-back conference wins by 51 combined points on their home turf, the Presbyterian College football team will play their second road contest of the PFL slate this Saturday at Stetson.
Kickoff in Florida is scheduled for 2:00 and will be live streamed on YouTube. The Blue Hose will aim for their third W in a row, both in 2026 and against the Hatters who they've scored six touchdowns on in each of the past two meetings.
PC hopes to stay in the race for the Pioneer League championship as one of six teams in the PFL who currently have two wins in divisional action.
The Scotsmen took two road victories in conference territory last season (Butler and St. Thomas), averaging over 400 yards of total offense so far in head coach
Matt Rahl's debut campaign.

PFL Weekly Report
1919 CUP SECURED
• For the first time since it was created in 2021, the Blue Hose captured the 1919 Cup last weekend in the annual "Carolina Border Clash" rivalry against Davidson. PC ended the Cats' bragging rights in the series with 32 unanswered points to win a 38-21 ballgame amidst a torrential downpour.
• The backfield tandem of
Damion Moate and
Jackson Burleson was virtually unstoppable in Presbyterian's 11
th consecutive home victory, combining for 243 rushing yards on 39 carries and four touchdowns.
• After falling behind 14-0 in less than four minutes due to a pair of turnovers, the Blue Hose flipped momentum drastically by producing a touchdown in their next five drives. As a unit, they rushed for nearly 350 yards (QB
Landon Sharpe added an extra 90).
• PC now owns a 12-3 record over their last 15 PFL contests (dating back to November of 2024). That is tied with Drake for the best mark of any school in the conference over that time span.
• Throughout Presbyterian's back-to-back league wins over St. Thomas and Davidson, they have combined for eight rushing touchdowns and six passing touchdowns.
BOOKENDED BY STETSON
• Spanning the last four games of the 2024 season and the first seven games of the next, PC won 11 in a row which was the second-longest winning streak in NCAA Division I football at the time. The first and the last victories of that 11-game streak came at Stetson's expense.
• The Blue Hose went over 365 days in between losses, beginning that incredible streak with a 42-14 rout in Florida over the Hatters. PC piled up 663 yards of offense in their last trip to DeLand, punctuating the win with a school-record 94-yard touchdown pass.
• Fast forward 12 months later and PC captured their 11
th consecutive win against the same team that the streak started against: a 42-7 blowout against Stetson at Bailey Memorial Stadium which is the largest margin of victory that Presby has obtained in this series.
• In front of a jam-packed audience of seven thousand plus on Homecoming, PC pitched a shutout until the 4
th quarter and became just the second team in school history to begin a season 7-0 (1959 was the only other occasion).
• Last year's blowout over Stetson took the Blue Hose to #16 in the AFCA Coaches Poll, the highest that any team from the Pioneer Football League had reached since 2009.
• PC was one of the last eight undefeated FCS teams at the time that they hammered Stetson in 2025, playing six consecutive games without allowing a single touchdown in the 4
th quarter.
SHARPE vs. VON GROTE
• Saturday's matchup in the Sunshine State figures to be an intriguing mix between dueling quarterbacks
Landon Sharpe and Thomas Von Grote.
• The two signal-callers have combined for over 2,600 passing yards this season and 19 touchdowns. They have also limited turnovers, with just three interceptions apiece.
• Sharpe (a two-time PFL Offensive Player of the Week selection) had his best effort in a 34-point drubbing over St. Thomas, totaling six TD's (five through the air) and topping out at 462 offensive yards.
• The White Knoll High School graduate ranks second in the PFL and 11
th in all of FCS by averaging 289 total yards per game. His pass efficiency rating is currently 139.0, the third-highest in the conference.
• Von Grote, meanwhile, has been a bright spot for the Hatters in two straight losses against Pioneer League adversaries, throwing for 669 yards. He has passed for at least one touchdown in five consecutive games, completing 60 passes versus Marist and St. Thomas.
OPPONENT PROFILE
• The 1-5 ledger that looms over Stetson may be the most misleading record in the Pioneer Football League, with the Hatters going up against #3 South Dakota State and #11 UC Davis last month.
• Tasked with rebuilding the Hatters in his second season, head coach Mike Jasper directed his team to a close loss against Marist in the PFL opener and a disastrous 64-21 setback to St. Thomas last weekend.
• Stetson's offense remains potent despite a four-game losing streak. Further complicating the Hatters' early-season woes is the fact that four of their first six games have been contested away from home.
• Senior receiver Wyatt Rogers has been the top target in Stetson's pass attack, catching 18 balls for nearly 200 yards in PFL competition.
• Each of their top eight tacklers have at least one stop behind the line of scrimmage thus far, led by junior linebacker Shug Bentley's 39 tackles overall.
TAYLOR AT THE TOP
• A key piece to Presbyterian's runaway win over St. Thomas, senior cornerback
Noah Taylor ended the day with four pass breakups which gives him nine deflections on the year.
• His four breakups are tied for the most of any FCS player in a single game this season (Montana State's Takhari Carr is the only one who can match it).
• Furthermore, it is tied for the PC Division-I record that was first set by Rod Haygood in a 2018 setback against Gardner-Webb.
• Taylor's nine breakups in just six games are more than any defensive back in the Pioneer Football League and tied for the second-most nationally. He needs only two more to tie the FCS leader in that department (Mason Edwards of McNeese State).
