LAST TIME OUT
The Blue Hose dropped a road matchup at UNC Asheville on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 21), falling to the Bulldogs 76-58.
The Blue Hose had three double-figure scorers, led by Ja'Cia Cunningham's 19 points. Cunningham also grabbed six rebounds in the game. Daniella Velez scored 16 points while connecting on three three-point field goals. Krystal Haddock rounded out Presbyterian's double-figure scorers with 13 points.
BLUE HOSE BY THE NUMBERS
Senior Ja'Cia Cunningham powers Presbyterian entering Wednesday, averaging 10.9 points per game (ranks 12th in the Big South). She has scored at least 20 points four times this season and has reached double figures 14 times. Aminata Tal is Presbyterian's second-leading scorer on the year, averaging 8.9 points per contest going into Wednesday. She is also second in the team in made field goals (94) and in steals (41).
Junior Ore Ogunwolere has been productive for PC on both ends of the floor, leading the team in several different categories. She leads the team in assists (66), steals (52), and minutes per game (30.3). She is fifth in the league in steals per game (2.0) and ranks ninth in assists. Sophomore Daniella Velez is second on the team in assists (39). Velez has caught fire as of late, scoring in double figures in three of her last five games. She is shooting 37.2 percent from three in conference play.
Freshman Allie Sykes powers Presbyterian from distance and the free throw line coming into Wednesday night. She has connected on 28 threes this season, also making 21 of her 23 total free throw attempts (91.3 percent).
Sophomore Krystal Haddock paces the Blue Hose on the boards this year. She leads Presbyterian in rebounding, grabbing 5.8 boards per game. She has been on a tear in league play, averaging 9.9 points and 7.4 rebounds per contest.
CAREER-HIGHS
Several Blue Hose players have had career-highs in conference play this year. Against UNC Asheville on Saturday, Daniella Velez scored a career-high 16 points on 6-of-12 shooting. She also tied her career-high from distance against the Bulldogs, connecting on three treys. Amani Williams tied her career-high in points (10) and set a new-career high in rebounds (10) against Winthrop on Feb. 18. In Presbyterian's 50-46 Big South victory over Gardner-Webb on Jan. 21, Aminata Tal tied her career-high with nine made field goals. Ore Ogunwolere recorded a career-high eight rebounds for the Blue Hose against the Runnin' Bulldogs. She also tied her career-high in assists with six.
DOUBLE-DOUBLES
Krystal Haddock and Amani Williams have both recorded double-doubles for the Blue Hose this season. Haddock has posted three on the year with her most recent coming on Feb. 18 against Winthrop (11 points, 13 rebounds). Williams logged the first of her career against the Eagles as well, recording 10 points and 10 boards. The Winthrop game was the first time two PC players have posted a double-double since Dec. 31, 2024 against Newberry.
NEW PROGRAM RECORD
Krystal Haddock delivered a record-breaking performance against Charleston Southern on Jan. 23. She grabbed a single-game program record 12 offensive rebounds against the Buccaneers, shattering the previous record of nine. For her efforts, she was named PC Student-Athlete of the Week on Jan. 27.
SCOUTING THE HIGHLANDERS
Radford comes into Wednesday night with an 18-11 overall record and a 10-4 record in the Big South. The Highlanders are solo second in the league and have won eight of their last 10. Joi Williams leads the Radford offense, averaging 13.8 points per game. Georgia Simonsen also averages in double figures, scoring 10.4 points per contest. As a team, Radford is well balanced. The Highlanders rank fourth in the league in scoring offense (65.7 ppg) and third in scoring defense (allow 60.5 ppg). Head coach Mike McGuire is in his thirteenth season as the leader of Highlander basketball.
PRESBYTERIAN – RADFORD ALL-TIME SERIES
The Highlanders control the all-time series with Presbyterian, leading 29-12. Radford took the meeting earlier this season, defeating the Blue Hose 75-32 on Dec. 31 in Clinton. The previous matchup on Feb. 22, 2025, PC erased a nine-point halftime deficit on the road, outscoring Radford 50-34 to come back to win 78-71.
BLUE HOSE ROSTER
Joining the Blue Hose this season are nine newcomers (four transfers and five freshmen). The transfers for Coach Sardin are Ore Ogunwolere (Union College), Ja'Cia Cunningham (Chicago State), and Krystal Haddock (Tennessee State).
Freshmen Aretha Linger, Yolanda Floyd, Allie Sykes, Samantha Mullock, and Amani Williams also join the Blue Hose. This is the most freshmen the Blue Hose have had on the roster since the 2022-23 season (also five).
The Blue Hose also return four from last year's roster. Seniors Shelby Fiddler and Aminata Tal lead the returners for PC. Sophomores Morgan Boyd and Daniella Velez also are back for the Blue Hose this season.
