CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team (2-2) recorded its second-straight home win on Tuesday (Jan. 30), defeating Lander 6-1 on the Templeton Center Tennis Courts.
The Blue Hose took the doubles point and logged singles victories on courts one, three, four, five, and six to clinch the victory over the Bearcats.
Presbyterian won all three doubles matches to begin the match. Ladina Bruhin and Roxy Valdes began proceedings with a 6-2 victory on the top court. Mary Ellen Longmire and Grace Katzman kept the momentum going with a 6-3 win on court two. Finally, Sofia Rodrigo Hidalgo and Luciana Parrilli closed out doubles with a 6-3 win on court three.
Katzman extended the PC lead in singles, logging a 6-4, 6-0 win on court three. Bruhin followed right after with another straight-set victory on the top court. Rodrigo Hidalgo clinched the win for the Blue Hose on court five, picking up a 6-1, 6-4 victory. Parrilli and Longmire recorded the other two points for Presbyterian, closing out the match with victories on courts four and six.
