PC Wraps Weekend With Defeat at North Florida

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Presbyterian College baseball team (2-10) closed out its three-game series at North Florida with a 12-2 defeat on Sunday afternoon (March 1) at Harmon Stadium.


The Ospreys scored six in the first inning to get hot out right out of the gate, controlling the game en route to a 12-2 win in seven innings of play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Ospreys took off immediately to start the afternoon, scoring six runs on six hits in the bottom of the first inning to separate from the Blue Hose.

- North Florida tacked on another run in the second inning to grab a 7-0 advantage through two innings.

- The Blue Hose got on the board for the first time on Sunday in the top of the third thanks to a sacrifice fly RBI from Jonathan Williams. Andrew Albertus singled in the inning and came around to score.

- After North Florida put up a run in the fifth, Presbyterian got the run back in the top of the seventh. Bo Moody doubled down the right field line before Albertus singled again to hit him home.

- The Ospreys closed out the game in the bottom of the seventh, scoring four more runs to take home a 12-2 victory in Jacksonville to finish the weekend.

 

 

NOTABLES 
- Andrew Albertus went 2-for-3 at the plate and was a part of both PC runs. He had four hits, three RBIs, and scored four runs against the Ospreys on Saturday and Sunday.

- Jonathan Williams, Matthew Rollison, and Bo Moody all logged hits for PC.

- JJ Harrell made his first start of the season on the mound and the fourth of his collegiate career.

- Brooks Chamberlin threw a scoreless second inning for the Blue Hose.

- Mikey Marroquin Jr. pitched 3.0 innings out of the bullpen, allowing just two hits and one run while striking out four. His four strikeouts are one short of his career-high (March 1, 2025 against Eastern Michigan).

The Blue Hose hit the road again for a midweek contest on Tuesday (March 3), squaring off against Charleston at 4:00 p.m. The game will air on FloSports.
