TEANECK, N.J. – Tied at five separate moments and maneuvering through several late lead changes, the Presbyterian College lacrosse team was unable to deny a match-ending 4-0 run from FDU in a Tuesday setback by the final tally of 11-9.
Seven different PC players scored at least once in the close non-conference loss, boosted by two apiece from underclassmen
Emily Currie and
Harper Johnson.
After assuming a 9-7 advantage with just under 11 minutes to go, the Blue Hose yielded back-to-back FDU scores in 68 seconds to tie things up. The Knights went on to hit the game-winner with 3:23 on the clock and added another goal just over a minute later.
The victor of Presby's last five matches has flipped back and forth, now with a 2-5 record on the year and anticipating two home events in quick succession to close the pre-Big South schedule.
Friday evening will denote the next game for head coach
Eric Clakeley's squad, hosting Merrimack at 6:00. They'll turn around to take on Manhattan 48 hours later, also in Clinton.
FINAL SCORE: FDU, 11 – Presbyterian, 9

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Total shots, clears, ground balls, and turnovers were all slim margins in the matinee, with FDU out-shooting Presbyterian 27-23 and finding 18 on-goal looks.
- A major factor in Tuesday's outcome was a 17-4 differential in draw controls by the home side, helping facilitate the 4
th-quarter comeback which avenged a 10-point loss to PC exactly 365 days ago.
-
Hannah Savage,
Ella Bobbitt,
Alyssa Perez,
Sydney Howard, and
Kate Dominick all produced a single goal in the tight loss, with a pair of assists attributed to the latter.
-
Annabel Geisler scooped three ground balls to lead the team in that department, while
Miranda Castilla and
Emma Claire Mills caused four takeaways put together.
-
Kayleigh Aitken and
Morgan Thompson each played a full half in PC's third match of the season against a team from the Northeast Conference, making seven saves.
- Perez and Savage turned a one-score deficit into a 6-5 edge at intermission thanks to a couple of quick strikes, maintaining that one-point lead after both sides hit two in the 3
rd frame.
- Johnson's connection in the 4
th signaled the first multi-goal effort by the rookie, but the Blue Hose were unfortunately shut out for the remainder of the match as FDU flipped the script.
