ATLANTA, Ga. - The Presbyterian College men's and women's cross-country teams posted record-breaking times at the Emory Spring Break Classic, March 20-21.
"It was a great start to the outdoor season, and the team has a lot of room to grow over the coming weeks," said head coach Robert "Bus" Baker.
WHAT HAPPENED
On March 20, in the elite races, freshman
Jude Rutherford started things off with the second-fastest 1500M in school history, running 4:03. Junior
Garrison Fisher took nearly a minute off the school's 5k record, running 14:58.
On March 21, freshman
Katie Stevenson (11:16.84) and junior
Abby Donaldson (11:32.23) both ran under the previous school record in the 3000 meters. Freshman
Robert Volk cracks the school's top 10 in the men's 800 meters, running 2:08. Freshman DJ Alvin becomes the fifth fastest man in school history in the 400m (53.37). Freshman
Sarah Danbury now ranks 8th all-time in the 1500 (6:05.39). Freshman
Alexis Yeung (2:39.98) and redshirt junior
Eliana Watson (2:41.00) move up to 5th and 6th all-time, respectively, in the women's 800m.
