CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Presbyterian Blue Hose men's tennis player Matija Samardzic was named Big South Conference Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon. Samardzic is the 18th player in the program's history to earn the Big South Freshman of the Week award.
 
PERFORMANCE LAST WEEK
Samardzic won both his singles and doubles matches in helping the Blue Hose pick up a 4-3 road win at Chattanooga this past Sunday. He teamed with David Mamalat for a 6-1 win at number one doubles, helping the Blue Hose capture the doubles point. Then, he recorded a 6-1, 2-6, 6-2 win at number three singles.

PLAY THIS SEASON
The Podgorica, Montenegro native has teamed with Mamalat to record five doubles wins this season. For their performance this season, the doubles tandem entered the ITA National Doubles Rankings at No. 56 this week. In singles play, he has tallied three singles wins.
