Samardzic, Mamalat, and Prasad Land All-Big South Recognition

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A trio of Presbyterian Blue Hose men's tennis players earned All-Big South Conference honors, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.

BIG SOUTH HONORS
Junior Matija Samardzic was named Big South Newcomer of the Year while also being a First All-Big South Singles selection. Senior David Mamalat was a First Team All-Big South Singles honoree. Samardzic and Mamalat captured First Team All-Big South Doubles honors. Sophomore Daksh Prasad was named Second Team All-Big South Singles.
Mamalat was named to the Big South All-Academic team.

Newcomer of the Year, First Team Singles, First Team Doubles

Samardzic is the first player in the program's history to be named Big South Newcomer of the Year. The Podgorica, Montenegro native, in his first season with the Blue Hose, won a team-leading 12 singles matches.  This season, he was the Big South Player of the Week twice (March 4, April 1). He also teamed with Mamalat to form the Blue Hose's top doubles duo, which won the Big South Doubles Championship last fall while collecting 14 wins this spring. They were nationally ranked during the season as well.

First Team Singles, First Team Doubles, Big South All-Academic Team

This season, he has 10 singles wins with seven of those victories coming on court one. This week, he was named the Big South Player of the Week. He also teamed with Samardzic to form the Blue Hose's top doubles duo, which won the Big South Doubles Championship last fall while collecting 14 wins this spring. They were nationally ranked during the season as well.
 
The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native was a  First Team All-Big South Singles selection last season and a Second Team All-Big South Singles and Doubles honoree in 2024.
 
Mamalat has a 3.34 GPA, majoring in Business Administration.

Daksh PrasadDAKSH PRASAD
Second Team Singles

Prasad is second on the team with 11 singles wins, with seven wins coming on court two. He also teamed with a couple of partners for four doubles wins.
 
The Gwalior, India native was a Second Team All-Big South Singles selection last year.
