SPARTANBURG, S.C. – A third-period 8-1 run was the turning point in the Presbyterian College lacrosse team's short visit to Wofford, keeping pace with the Terriers for the majority of Saturday's matchup but ending with a 15-11 loss.
Sophomore
Sydney Howard landed her second three-goal effort of the campaign (her first against a Big South opponent), as classmate
Emily Currie joining her with that same stat line. For the latter, she has now scored 14 times in the last four outings.
PC did not trail until the game was nearly 20 minutes old, taking a one-point lead into the second quarter and earning a seven-all tie at intermission. However, the Terriers doubled them up over the rest of the contest (8-4).
Head coach
Eric Clakeley's unit forced 15 turnovers , but were able to obtain just five of 28 draw controls which aided Wofford's second-half surge.
The in-state loss drops Presby to 4-12 overall with a 1-5 mark in conference settings. They'll play their last home game of 2026 this Wednesday, hosting Winthrop at Bailey Memorial Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Howard hit back-to-back goals within six minutes of each other to put PC up by a pair, setting up Currie to get on the board with 48 seconds left in the opening frame.
- The second period certainly had the fastest pace, as the Terriers barely edged out the Scotsmen in that window 5-4.
Madeleine Lowrance hit the back of the net with less than a minute until the break, but Wofford countered just 40 seconds later to keep the stalemate.
- There were five ties altogether, the result of a seesaw half where Presbyterian evened the Big South's second-highest scoring team.
- PC kept up the pressure on Terrier goalie Hannah Taylor after the pause, utilizing a couple of quick scores from Currie and
Kate Dominick to push the advantage to 9-7.
- It took Wofford nearly 10 full minutes to get their first goal of the second half, but they would end the 3
rd with three unanswered points to assume an 11-10 cushion that they would not relinquish again.
