ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team (7-13, 1-3 Big South) played for the final time in the regular season on Wednesday morning (April 8), suffering a 5-2 defeat to UNC Asheville at Asheville School.

The Bulldogs took the doubles point and posted singles wins on courts one, three, four, and six to clinch the Big South win over PC.

UNC Asheville won the doubles point to start the match, picking up victories on courts one and three.

The Bulldogs quickly extended their lead to 3-0 behind singles victories on courts one and six.

Ladina Bruhin got Presbyterian on the board, battling to a three-set victory over Isabella Moss on court two. Bruhin and Moss split sets, but Bruhin came up clutch in the 10-point tiebreaker. She won the decisive breaker 10-8 to secure the Blue Hose a victory on court two.

UNC Asheville clinched the victory with wins on courts three and four.

Mary Ellen Longmire recorded PC's other point on Wednesday, coming through in a tight match on court five. She dropped the first set to Valeria Centeno but won the second 6-4 to force a match tiebreak. She emerged victorious in the breaker, finishing the match with a 10-7 victory.

The Blue Hose had only five players available for the match.

- Ladina Bruhin recorded her team-leading ninth singles win of the year.
- Mary Ellen Longmire logged her second victory on court five this season. She now has eight singles wins overall, good for second on the team.
