Presbyterian Sees Eight Teams Record Perfect NCAA APR Scores

CLINTON, S.C. - Eight Presbyterian College Blue Hose athletics teams posted a perfect 1000 APR score for the 2024-25 academic year, as announced by the NCAA.

"The pursuit of excellence is part of the culture of Presbyterian College Athletics, and these APR results are a reflection of the commitment our student-athletes, coaches, faculty, and staff make every day," said Dee Nichols, Presbyterian Director of Athletics. "We are proud to see our programs succeeding at a high level academically, some with perfect scores,  while continuing to compete with excellence. These outcomes speak to the discipline, accountability, and support system that define the student-athlete experience at Presbyterian College."

The women's cross country team had a perfect multi-year rate.

Teams that recorded perfect single-year APR scores in 2024-25 were men's basketball, men's cross country, men's golf, women's basketball, women's cross country, women's golf, women's soccer, and women's tennis.

Five Presbyterian teams outpaced the national average: baseball, men's golf, women's soccer, women's cross country, and softball.

The APR is an annual scorecard of academic achievement calculated for all Division I sports teams. The APR report measures eligibility, graduation, and retention each semester or academic term, with student-athletes earning one point for staying on course for a degree in their chosen major, and one point for being retained (or graduating) at the end of each academic term. A team's total points are divided by points possible, and then multiplied by 1,000. The NCAA Division I Academic Performance Program helps ensure that schools fulfil their commitment to equipping student-athletes with the tools and resources necessary to achieve academic success.
