Women’s Soccer Activates 2026 Fall Schedule

CLINTON, S.C. – Heading into his third campaign as the Presbyterian College women's soccer head coach, Matt Smith announced the 2026 Blue Hose schedule on Thursday afternoon.

Starting with two home exhibitions, PC will compete in 16 regular-season matches with seven of them emanating from Martin Stadium. The season will officially begin on Sunday, August 16 with a visit to Alabama State.

Commented Coach Smith, "We are really excited about the schedule we've put together. Our non-conference layout will provide a challenge and get us ready for the Big South slate. I can't wait to get back to it."

Presbyterian will encounter three opponents who won 10 matches last year, situated to play the 2025 conference tournament champion High Point at home along with other league foes Gardner-Webb, Charleston Southern, and Longwood.

AUGUST

WSOC August

- PC will not have to travel for either of their preseason bouts, bringing in Davidson on August 6 and USC Lancaster five days later. That will segue into the proper opener on the 16th against Alabama State on the road.

- Coach Smith's unit blasted ASU in Clinton last time around, winning a 5-0 blowout that featured a pair of goals from returners Anna Hussey and Harlan Lyons.

- The Scotsmen will make their '26 home debut on August 21 versus old Division II rival Newberry which will also denote Senior Night.

- PC has not played the Wolves in two full decades, last facing them in 2006 when Smith was beginning his coaching career as a Blue Hose assistant.

- Presby ends the month by playing the first half of a four-game road swing, venturing to North Dakota and North Dakota State on the 27th and 30th, respectively.

SEPTEMBER

WSOC September

- The next two outings will be in more familiar territory for the blue and garnet, making the much shorter trip to Furman on September 3.

- Smith sent his troops to Greenville two years ago to ultimately pick up a 2-1 victory, scoring the tie-breaking goal in the 65th minute on a free kick.

- The Paladins nearly advanced to the Southern Conference Championship game last fall, narrowly losing to top-seed Samford in overtime in the semifinals.

- Presby takes another short drive on the 6th to battle Wofford, a SoCon school that has gone up against the Blue Hose in 13 of the last 18 seasons.

- Smith's very first match as PC's head coach was a thrilling 3-2 win against the Terriers two years ago in Spartanburg. Incoming senior Emilia Lieber delivered the game-winner in the 69th minute.

- PC will return home on September 10 after nearly three weeks away, competing against Kennesaw State in the second-to-last matchup with an opponent outside the Big South.

- The conference opener will send Smith and co. to UNC Asheville on the 19th, the same club that Presbyterian battled to a 1-1 draw in their most recent showing.

- Gardner-Webb will come to Clinton for PC's first home Big South sequence on the 23rd, which will then lead to a quick trip to USC Upstate on the final day of the month.

- The Spartans placed 2nd in the conference standings last season, nearly winning the league title for the second straight time before they were ousted in PK's by High Point.

OCTOBER + POSTSEASON

WSOC October

- Nearly a week into October will signal a non-conference detour, as Presbyterian hosts South Carolina State on the 6th. Emma Brown scored a dramatic goal in the 87th minute to defeat the Bulldogs last year, extending PC's winning streak in that series to six games.

- Charleston Southern will visit Martin Stadium on 10/10 to resume conference play, continuing a two-week period where PC plays four home contests.

- The only road game in that window will occur on the 14th, traveling to Winthrop whom the Blue Hose tied 2-2 last season.

- Presbyterian will entertain Longwood on the 17th in the penultimate home game, aiming for revenge as the Lancers squeezed out a 1-0 victory in 2025.

- The prior year, PC won a penalty-kick shootout in Virginia to upend Longwood in the Big South Quarterfinals. It was the program's first postseason win in the D-I era.

- Coach Smith's crew welcomes High Point for the home finale on October 21, the same team that made a surprise run to the NCAA Tournament after tying for 4th in the conference standings last time around.

- The Blue Hose will travel to Radford for the last regular season event on Halloween. The Highlanders captured the Big South regular season championship for the second time in a three-year span, but were stunned by HPU in the semi's.

- All matches in the 2026 conference tourney will be hosted by the higher seed, with the opening round of the postseason taking place on November 5.

- After the semi's on the 10th and the title match on the 15th, the winner of the Big South crown will receive an automatic bid to the 64-team NCAA Tournament.
