CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian College Blue Hose Director of Athletics Dee Nichols announced a five-year contract extension for head men's basketball coach
Quinton Ferrell through the 2030-31 season.
"Coach Ferrell is an integral part of the Presbyterian College family, and we are thrilled that he has signed a contract extension to continue his legacy at his alma mater," Nichols said. "His unwavering commitment to our student-athletes, our department, and our campus has positioned our men's basketball program for sustained success. This commitment reflects the trust we have in his leadership and the bright future we believe lies ahead for Blue Hose Basketball."

Ferrell, a former standout player for the Blue Hose from 2003-07, is entering his eighth season as Presbyterian's head coach and his 13th overall as a member of Presbyterian's coaching staff.
"I'm excited to continue to lead the PC program into the foreseeable future," Ferrell said. "I want to thank President Gustafson, Athletic Director Dee Nichols, and Sandy Dowdle in Human Resources for recognizing the hard work and commitment my staff and I have dedicated to the basketball program, along with the development of our student athletes academically as well. My staff has been instrumental to the success of the program over the last three seasons, and I want to thank those guys for all of their hard work. I also want to thank my wife, Kimberly, and my children for all of their many sacrifices so that I can lead the PC program to the best of my ability."
During his time as the Blue Hose head coach, he has guided Presbyterian to some of its most successful seasons in the Big South while leading the team to two postseason tournament berths (CBI appearances in 2024 and 2025). Last season, the Blue Hose reached the Big South Tournament semifinals for the first time in school history and were a basket away from playing for the Big South Tournament title.
During his tenure at Presbyterian, Ferrell has recruited and developed student-athletes who have earned Big South Defensive Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, and two Big South Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors. His players have also garnered eight All-Big South selections and five Big South All-Freshman Team recognitions. Over the past two seasons, Ferrell's leadership of the Blue Hose program has been acknowledged by his peers, who voted him runner-up for Big South Coach of the Year.
