Women’s Basketball Adds Brittany Shine as Assistant Coach

CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian College head women's basketball coach Tiffany Sardin announced the addition of Brittany Shine on Friday (July 3) as an assistant coach for the Blue Hose.

Shine arrives to Clinton after spending four seasons as an assistant coach at Cosumnes River College, a JUCO program located in Sacramento, California. She helped lead the Hawks to over 60 wins in her four-year tenure, highlighted by a 23-win season in 2023-24.

"Brittany is an outstanding addition to our coaching staff," said Coach Sardin. "Her experience both as a high-level player and coach combined with her passion for developing young women aligns perfectly with the vision of our program. We are excited to welcome her to PC."

"I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the coaching staff here at Presbyterian College," said Shine. "I look forward to helping contribute to the growth of our players on and off the court, and contributing to building a winning culture here at PC under Coach Sardin's leadership."

Boasting an accomplished basketball background, Shine excelled at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels throughout her playing career.

Shine played her collegiate basketball at the University of Florida and the University of California, Berkeley (2010-15). She spent the first two seasons of her college career at Florida before transferring to Cal.

In her freshman campaign with the Gators, Shine made an immediate impact, earning SEC Freshman of the Week honors. She was named Tournament MVP in the Gator Holiday Classic, scoring an impressive 28 points in her first collegiate start.

She appeared in all 29 games during her sophomore year with the Gators, reaching double figures three times. She transferred to Cal following her second season at Florida. After sitting out a year, Shine played in 39 career games for the Golden Bears, helping Cal make back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Tournament. During her two seasons in Berkley, Cal won over 40 games, posting two straight top three finishes in the Pac-12.

Following her productive collegiate career, Shine played professionally overseas. Her pro career took her all over the world, including Iraq, Egypt, Portugal, China (with the USA Select Team), Spain, Turkey, Cyprus, Morocco, and Tunisia.

Shine graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies and a minor in African American Studies.
