CLINTON, S.C.  – Presbyterian's Aiden Burke scored his first career goal as the Blue Hose (0-7-0, BSC: 0-1-0) battled USC Upstate (3-6-0, BSC: 1-0-0) before falling 3-1 in the Big South Conference opener for both teams Saturday night in Martin Stadium.  
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• In the 32nd minute, USC Upstate took a 1-0 lead after Tolu Fabamifobee scored off an Oscar Kelly assist.
• In the 38th minute, the Blue Hose tied the score at one after a Gabe Carvalho corner kick found Gabriel Leslie near the right post. Leslie passed the ball to Burke, who tapped the ball in from about eight yards out.
• In the 47th minute, USC Upstate's David Palade scored the go-ahead goal off a Jacob Cromedy assist.
• In the 60th minute, USC Upstate's Christian Cook scored the game's final goal off a Palade assist.

 
NOTABLES

• The Blue Hose finished the game with a season-high 14 shots. Burke led the Blue Hose with four shots. Ty Wilson recorded three shots. Leslie, Bryce Burdette, Braden Gritz, AJ Acree, Kenshin Akimoto, Aylan Belaid and Jordan Tema added shots to the Blue Hose offensive attack.
• Presbyterian goalkeeper Saed Anabtawi recorded six saves in the game.
