PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's golf team concluded play at the Golfweek Intercollegiate on Tuesday afternoon (Sept. 8) at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club.
Maddie Peake and Sloane Spessard led the Blue Hose to start the season, tying as the team's best finishers at a total score of 228.
As a team, Presbyterian finished in 21st place, completing the tournament with a three-round score of 930. UNC Wilmington grabbed the team title at Pawleys Island.
NOTABLES
- Maddie Peake turned in PC's lowest round of the third round to conclude the tournament in a tie for 77th. She made two birdies on the final day, taking advantage of the par-three sixth and par-five 15th holes. She had nine pars as well in her round. On the week, she ranked second on the team in birdies made, producing five.
- Sloane Spessard tied Peake for the tournament to finish T77 as well. She filled up the scorecard with an impressive three birdies to lead the team in the final round. She birdied the second, fourth, and 17th holes. Overall, she led the team in birdies in the tournament, making nine total.
- Chloe Scofield fired a 79 in the third round at Pawleys Island, finishing T102 with a total score of 235. She recorded her first birdie of the tournament on the second hole, scoring on the par-five second. She made 10 pars on the final day to complete the first tournament of her collegiate career.
- Addy Parker led the team in pars made in the final round, posting 11. She turned in a third round score of 81 to finish in 110th place. She wrapped up the week with two birdies. Gabi Carles rounded out the Blue Hose lineup, finishing with an overall score of 276. She made four birdies to open her season.
