Biography

2012: Went 14-13 in singles play to lead the Blue Hose, picking up three wins in Big South Conference play... Went 17-6 in doubles play, ranking second as well... Won the deciding match in three sets against Coastal Carolina (4/20) to send PC to the Big South Conference Championship match... Also took a championship tournament match against UNC Asheville (4/19)... Won conference matches against Gardner-Webb (3/28), Campbell (4/7) and UNC Asheville (4/11)... Three doubles victories put him in the team lead... Earned wins in his first complete five doubles matches and grabbed seven straight victories with Rafael Berghaus... Won his final three complete doubles contests against Winthrop (4/13), UNC Asheville (4/19) and Coastal Carolina (4/20).

Previous School: Played two years at New Mexico Military Institute, playing No. 1 and 2 singles and doubles... Compiled a 20-11 dual match record in singles play and a 20-9 tally in doubles... Member of Phi Theta Ki National Honor Society.

Club: Won the University of Georgia Summer Circuit ITA doubles title... Represented Fiji as the No. 1 male player at the 2012 South Pacific Games...  Attended Natabua High School.

Personal: William Antonio Furtado O'Connell... Son of Dan and Isabel O'Connell... Plans to major in physics... Brother Antonio plays tennis for New Mexico Military Institute.
