Summary

Biography

2024-25: Barbieri's second and final season at Presbyterian saw her finish in 3rd place at the Southeast Regional Championships for the second year in a row, backed by a 20-win trek (one of 13 wrestlers on PC's roster to log at least 20 victories)...As a senior, she compiled 16 technical falls (third-most on the roster in that category) alongside two gold prizes at the Princeton Open (New Jersey) and Wasp Open (Virginia)...Representing class 103, Chiara knocked off six opponents from a nationally-ranked university in dual play, collecting bronze at Regionals thanks to a 16-10 win over Mount Olive's Lilian Prendergast in the consolation round...Was one of 14 National Championship qualifiers for the Blue Hose - a new school record - concluding her college career with two straight 10-0 tech's versus East Stroudsburg and Lindenwood on the grandest stage...Contributed to a 6th-place team finish at Nationals, another program-best.

2023-24: Became the Blue Hose's go-to 101-pounder in her first season with the program, translating to 18 wins altogether and a 3rd-place finish in the NCWWC Southeast Regionals...10 of her 18 victories came by either tech or pin, beginning her PC tenure with a 3rd-place mark at the season-starting Princeton Open...Earned two separate streaks of four straight triumphs in December and January, winning five duals against nationally-ranked opponents...Won her first individual title at the Emmanuel Open (Jan. 21), doing so with back-to-back 10-0 technical falls...Within an eight-day stretch, she defeated three top-10 adversaries all by technical fall (#8 Lock Haven, #6 Sacred Heart, and #3 King on the road)...Won three postseason encounters, picking up a 12-1 TF in the consolation bracket at the National Championship tourney from her old stomping grounds in Iowa.

Prior to PC: Transferred to Presbyterian following a tremendous two-year stint at North Iowa Area College, named an NJCAA 3rd-Place All-American...Captured numerous titles during her prep career in Canada, claiming championships in three years while at St. Francis Xavier Secondary School...Has been just as impressive in the classroom, included on the NJCAA Academic All-American list while also being named to the ICCAC 1st Team Academic All-Region.

Personal: Born on June 9, 2002...Majoring in Psychology & French...Daughter of Sarina Barbieri.
