Before joining the Elon staff, he was a graduate assistant coach at the University of North Carolina for three years (2001-03), spending the 2001 and ’02 seasons as the Tar Heels’ assistant offensive line coach. He also served as a defensive graduate assistant for the Tar Heels in 1996. During his four years at UNC, the Tar Heels won the 1996 Gator Bowl and the 2001 Peach Bowl.
In addition to his college experience, Frazier spent six years coaching high school football in both North Carolina and Louisiana. His career began as an assistant at his alma mater, Williams High School, in Burlington, N.C., from 1991 to 1993. He spent the 1997 and 1998 seasons coaching the defensive line at Jesuit High School in New Orleans, during which time the Blue Jays won the District 9-5A championship in 1997 and advanced to the state semifinals both years. In 1999, Frazier returned to Williams to coach the defensive line. The Bulldogs posted a 15-1 record that year, capturing the North Carolina 3A state championship.
